April 13, 2025 - Morro Bay.
Absolution Cellars was one of the wineries that was included in our "Wine for Wildlife Passport Tasting" fundraiser (April 12 & 13, 2025). We had been here before and enjoyed the location and the wines, so we were looking forward to visiting again.
They specialize in limited-production, handcrafted, single-vineyard wines from select vineyards throughout the Central Coast. And of special note is the beautiful, amazing label artwork.
Dirk is the winemaker and was our host. The Wildlife Passport allowed for a pour of 3 wines. We had an Albarino, Sangiovese Rose', and a Pinot Noir. We bought a bottle of the Pinot Noir to enjoy later, but all 3 wines were delicious.
The tasting room has both inside and outside patio seating. We had our pup, Sophie, with us, so we sat outside, just steps from the bay. Very nice.
Although we were there for a special event and did not have the regular tasting flights, I did see that there were two flights available offering 6 pours for $20 or $30 depending on the flight. read more
