I set here today 5 years after my daughter completed the program at Amicus House compelled to write a review to thank Amicus House for saving my daughters life. I watched my daughter destroy her life and everything around her for ten years. She was strung out, had tons of court cases, had lost all three of her children, she was at the end of the road....in desperation she called me for help. I could tell that this time was different than all others. We lived in Sacramento, I called my life long friend (Lori Johnson) at Amicus House in San Jose. Lori set up a interview and accepted my daughter into the program. Once my daughter was there I knew it would be up to her to do the work to turn her life around. Because of Amicus House's skilled staff and a program designed specifically for the recovery of addicts, my daughter was able to succeed. She completed the long term program, became employable, developed a network of recovery based folks around her and became a productive member of society. Once she felt emotionally strong enough, she left the San Jose area and returned home to the Sacramento area. Today she has finished her GED, and is attending College, has her children back in her life and works to pay the bills as well.
