Reviewing the hotel, I was in town for two nights at the same time as a teacher convention, and most everything was either booked or unreasonably priced. After my stay, I don't regret my decision. Opened in 1924, the hotel has hosted many US presidents, but JFK as the last. The rooms has been updated and are both clean and well kept. They have the requisite mini frig and microwave, current model TV. No in room coffee, no complimentary breakfast, but there is a restaurant in the lobby open for breakfast and lunch six days and dinner or Friday. More paperwork to check in than there would be a a Ritz Carlton, but they operate in an old-timey way, and what's wrong with that? A choice of bars and restaurants on Tower Avenue which runs in front of the hotel. Yes, I'd stay there again. read more
