I've lived in the neighborhood of this quaint & comfy restaurant since before they came along. I had never tried it so I was really excited, I've heard good things about the place. The oven they use is imported from Italy & pizza USA popular item on their menu. Small shareable plates make up the rest of the menu, but no pasta...only house baked bread which I highly recommend. The quality of ingredients is excellent with rich, flavorful olive oil & delicious house baked bread. I really enjoyed the small plates we chose, the buratta with rapini...clean and fresh tasting, served with grilled bread. The arancini balls were really yummy, 3 in a serving, the perfect bite of crunchy, cheesy, and a little sauce too. We also ordered the house meatballs which I thought were on the rough side served in a savory tomato sauce, a little on the salty side but I used it to put on my pizza. I didn't notice that the Funghi pizza we ordered was a white pizza, I thought it was kind of dry so I'm glad there was sauce from the meatballs. We ordered a couple of the small specials on the board and they were also tasty with great quality fresh produce. The thing that surprised ms about the experience was the service. Our server started off great as we told her this was my first time at the restaurant. We ordered drinks and about 3 shareable items and she never really came back to check on us even though our meatballs still had not come out. We wanted to get a 2nd round in because we were hungry, we had to ask the busser filling our water to alert our server. It started to feel like it was a pain to be waiting on us, It wasn't just our server but also a second busser that cleared our table and asked us if we wanted dessert...but he didn't know them when we asked what they had. There's a curtain to cut off the draft coming from the corridor that leads to the outdoor seating, but it was always left half open or more and our table had a direct path for the cold air that might have felt good to the rest of the dining room. We never complained about that but I run cold & I was freezing. I liked the food but I was underwhelmed with the service. There's just too much good food out here to have to put up with poor service...even if it is in my neighborhood. read more
