Okay this is my second Beyond/Hello review. This time I'm reviewing the Sterling location. So, you get there and there's a bunch of signs everywhere. As a person who has frequented many dispensaries, I was NOT going to read any of them. I'm sure for people who have never been to a dispensary, it may be helpful.
The door person was kind. She told me I had to pull my medical card out. It was damaged from being in my wallet. So I explained to her to please not remove it. She went on to say that it's necessary. (I don't know about any of you guys. But MY Virginia MMJ card is made of the cheapest paper material ever. And the ink is rubbing off. AND the state of Virginia will not allow you to get a replacement unless you pay $25.00) She then asked if I had my ID. She checked it, I was allowed in. At the front desk, I was asked for my ID, the certificate from the doctor, and the MMJ card.
The decor, is very uninviting. It's dark blue and white. The stuff on the wall behind the front desk is very lifeless. The place has no vibe. You wouldn't think it was a place for a healing plant to be dispensed. There is no pictures of plants. No explanation of terpenes and which ones would benefit what. They have urban music playing, I guess to appeal to the younger folks. No issue with that. I love all music. After using the iPad, I sat there feeling like I was in a government-run facility, doing something taboo. They have separate windows. Again, it feels like a government facility. I asked the cashier if there was a survey we could fill out to address the decor and the vibe. After mentioning this to the cashier, she seemed to take offense. Saying "I disagree. I think this looks very inviting."
There goes the 3 stars, I was going to give this review.
Anyways this place was not my cup of tea. I hope that it is yours. But if not, there are plenty of friendlier, energy-filled dispensaries right over the bridge. And the employees are very helpful and friendly there. read more
