Seriously seems like a tough time for banks - let me think who has great customer service still.. it'd be someone much bigger than BMO and this one branch I am really questioning their problems of phone center, automation of non human service (AI) is going to keep people quitting them. I had to go in person as I had spent months trying to activate my ATM card, trying to activate from home -calling into automation, but always says, "sorry we are having difficulties right now" -the difficulties never went away!
Calling into Customer Service many times~ put me in a circle of - "you do not have an ATM card for that account"-uh, yes I do! You sent it to me- I am holding it w/same number as when it was Bank of the West.
Finally- called into a local physical bank-& drove to closest location.
The guy was super nice but like, had to wait a bit for this one person-who solved the situation.
Most people would not be this patient.
The bad reviews make a lot of sense. This is people's money- and hard to consider doing business with a bank that is not staffed with enough "real personnel" on the phones & in person. read more
