Just opened this week on E North Avenue in the Northside, Breadbox PGH is a handcrafted sandwich and sweet treat café where everything is made fresh! They offer soups, sandwiches, and salads, all made to order, along with some grab-and-go salads and charcuterie trays. And of course, a big box full of amazing handmade sweet treats! Everything is fresh and locally sourced. I tried a sandwich from their specialty deli items menu--the Steakhouse Panini. This decadent sandwich features roast beef, provolone, balsamic onion jam, mayo, and spinach, all on garlic toast. Holy cow--tastes just like French onion soup from a high-end steakhouse! I also sampled a homemade cinnamon roll, a peanut butter cookie, and a savory spinach feta scone--all absolutely out of this world! They have a counter with the friendliest staff - then a few tables and chairs for dining in. Super simple and clean! I can't speak highly enough of this new spot.
