Cute cafe/sandwich shop down in Northside. It smells amazing in here from the baked goods!!! I ordered online and my order was ready when I picked up. The only issue I had was I unselected the cheese for my pastrami sandwich and when I got back to the office, I noticed they still put it on. I cannot eat dairy, so this was disappointing. But the sandwich overall was great. The pastrami had really good flavor with the mustard and rye. I will come back, but maybe I will come in or call in vs online ordering to make modifications. read more

Solid deli! The sandwich portion was surprisingly filling. Leaving 4 stars because a salad and sandwich ran me $25. The price I paid for my sandwich and salad were higher than the price on the digital menu. I'm wondering if it's because they added chicken or upcharged me for dressing without asking. Definitely watch for out for upcharged. Also, there was nowhere to drink or filtered water so be prepared to buy a beverage if you're thirsty. Food was delicious though! Breadbox is super cute and cheerful inside, with a few tables if you want to sit and enjoy your food. It's a nice option for a quick bite, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. That said, the food was just okay--my wrap was on the dry side and the cookie was harder than expected. We were also a little disappointed that they didn't have water available for people dining in. Just opened this week on E North Avenue in the Northside, Breadbox PGH is a handcrafted sandwich and sweet treat café where everything is made fresh! They offer soups, sandwiches, and salads, all made to order, along with some grab-and-go salads and charcuterie trays. And of course, a big box full of amazing handmade sweet treats! Everything is fresh and locally sourced. I tried a sandwich from their specialty deli items menu--the Steakhouse Panini. This decadent sandwich features roast beef, provolone, balsamic onion jam, mayo, and spinach, all on garlic toast. Holy cow--tastes just like French onion soup from a high-end steakhouse! I also sampled a homemade cinnamon roll, a peanut butter cookie, and a savory spinach feta scone--all absolutely out of this world! They have a counter with the friendliest staff - then a few tables and chairs for dining in. Super simple and clean! I can't speak highly enough of this new spot. We were visiting the Aviary yesterday, and afterwards we were feeling a little hungry so I did a Yelp search to see what was close (and what was open on a Monday), and this place popped up in the search, and looked pretty good. Admittedly, I hadn't heard of this place before, but it was within a few minutes walk from the aviary, so we decided to give it a try. It smelled so good as soon as you walked in the door because of all the fresh baked goods. Most of our group got sandwiches (some got the 1/2 soup and 1/2 sandwich combo), and one person (Gluten-Free) got a salad. I had the Fig and Smoked Gouda Chicken Panini, and while it tasted very good, I thought the consistency of the chicken salad was a little too dry and kinda crumbly, and somewhat messy. It was served with a pickle. Everyone else seemed to like their lunches. I would certainly come back again if I was in the area . . . Cheers! read more

So Good!!! Best panini sandwich ever. Crunchy, sweet and savory. Chicken, cheese, fig jam, (I think) and dressing. My daughter had one with meat and my friend had one with turkey. Everyone gave this place a five out of five review. read more

Horrible service, I stood 15Plus minutes for a cold ham and swiss sandwich which was not hot made with cheap ham that was just gross that I threw in the trash. The prices are way too much, $4.00 for a cookie! The deli place prior was much better and had more of a selection. It was the worst $18.00 I evrr spent on lunch, and will never go there again! read more
