COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. Wish I had read reviews before using Cali Relocation Systems. The salesman lied about me not needing to buy insurance because they cover $1M. He said that most other moving company's don't offer free insurance but when they damage and lose your stuff all you get is .60 per pound ( so my 1 pound step stool that cost me $35...they give me $.60 as a replacement!. The day of the move, they show up and start sales tactics right off the bat trying to get me to buy insurance for over $2000.00. From the minute they arrived the salesman would no longer take my calls. Dawn is the worst customer service rep I could have ever imagined, they refuse to answer about lost items and are aggressive on the phone rather than sympathetic to the damage and lost items.
The day before delivery, I am told I owe another $2400 (I paid $2600 up front), said I had 980 cubic feet instead of 640 but they actually quoted me at 780 cubic feet over the phone and then listed something different on the paperwork. My stuff only filled 1/4 of the truck and the driver told me the truck holds 1800 cubic feet so that would mean my stuff should have filled half the truck. WORST PART: the damage to my belongings. Both large lounge chairs legs were cracked, my antique dresser legs were broken off, boxes were lost (linen, food) my step stool went missing, pictures were dented, unique elephant coffee table was chipped all over and and 8 tusks were broken off, so much more damage to most anything of value, they had to have shoved my furniture rather than pick it up to move it. My office desk was simply abused and the broken off pieces were missing as well. In the end, they have not paid me a penny despite their own paperwork saying it can take up to 90 days and then they say 120 days. They have no concern for your belongings and don't care to speak to you once they get their money. They refuse to let me talk to the salesman that lied to me. Simply the WORST business i have ever dealt with in my entire life. I simply had to write my first ever review. BEWARE of their words and read every single page long before they show up to your door and don't believe the estimate they give you over the phone...they will increase it after they pick up your stuff...no way that my stuff was 980 cubic feet when their truck only held 1800. Wish I could add the pictures of damage so you could see! read more
