Worst business experience of my life! They smashed, lost, destroyed 1/3 of my belongings. They are NOT a valid business.

WARNING: This company is OUT-OF-SERVICE per USDOT#3192271 as of 9/6/19, and they have changed their name to "Moving Relocation Systems" since. Every 1 star COMPLAINT here is TRUE. RED FLAG #1 We recently used them from L.A. to Chicago in July/August. First of all, when making our reservation we spoke with TOM who seemed nice and assured us that they have dedicated trucks and were not a broker - we believed him. He said we would receive a call 4+days prior to our pick up date to confirm our inventory, pick up date, etc. NOBODY EVER CALLED. We had to call them 2 days prior to our pick up. RED FLAG #2 During pick up, SAM KHALIFA persisted to tell us that we needed 1800 cf of truck space. We moved from Chicago to L.A. a year before and only used 1200 cf so we knew how much space we needed on our return. SAM forced us to pay the additional charges for "1800 cf" even before the truck was loaded. He also left prior to the truck being loaded and never came back. Once the remaining "local" hired crew were done, they said they could not tell us how much cf we used in the truck. RED FLAG #3 During loading, the crew had dropped 6+ stacked chairs on top of me, my husband, Sam and the mover himself, causing damage to all of our dining chairs. The crew assured us these would be repaired while at their loading facility (in Bell) prior to being shipped out to our final delivery location. FALSE. Our chairs arrived untouched and damaged from the fall. RED FLAG #4 The whole entire time, SAM kept insisting we write him a positive review. Over and over again. We called him later in the day to reconfirm the chairs would be repaired and after he assured us they would be, he again asked us to write a positive review. RED FLAG #5 During delivery of our items in Chicago, our items were delivered by "Roadway Moving" - a third party freight company and NOT a direct delivery truck of "Cali Relocation". So, Tom lied during our reservation calls. RED FLAG #6 Also during delivery, the foreman had to use a porter truck to be able to unload our items at our place. He rented a U-Haul truck that was 26 ft long, our items had about 5 ft space to spare at the back, so doing our measurements we only calculated 1240 cf (as we initially knew). So, SAM, TOM, JIM, GEORGE, DAWN --- we'd like you to respond to our complaint and email. At this point your company has showed no integrity or honesty. You are aware about Sam's cockiness yet it seems to be a common experience here. RED FLAG #7 A bunch of our stuff arrived broken. We are glad we purchased additional independent insurance. But CRS only offers 60 cents/lb - NEVER use this default with any company. Items that were broken: - (2) filing cabinets whose wheels are bent beyond repair - Patio furniture with metal legs bent - Various boxes arrived SMUSHED - Dining chairs damaged at pick up that were not repaired - Dented stainless steel trash cans - Broken XL outdoor planters For all else reading this, DEFINITELY TAKE HEED IN ALL OF THE WARNINGS. I would give them zero stars if I could. Total nightmare from the get go. We moved from Sacramento Ca to Virginia and was hoping that using this moving company would make the process a little less painful. Unfortunately we chose the worse possible company to do business with because they made the move very harder than it needed to be. Every negative review you can find about this company is true and everything previous victims have written about this company's business practices are spot on. - very unprofessional especially Jim and Dawn - the movers showed up 14 hours late. We wasted a whole day waiting around for them...they finally got there at 9pm. - initial quote will be a reasonable price and the sales person will be very kind over the phone. Then once you pay the first deposit and the movers arrive, start loading, the whole game changes. They will suddenly notify you that the square footage is bigger than quoted and that "they need to stack your belongings in a way that it doesn't get damaged" You will be forced into paying more -they will take everything and store it somewhere in a warehouse for at least 3 weeks before they even ship it out to destination. They fail to make this part clear. So expect to be without your stuff for around 4 weeks minimum -when you call to inquire, Jim and Dawn will get very aggressive. (To be honest, If I ran a business based on lies and scamming people I'd be frustrated too if my customers asked legitimate questions that I couldn't answer) -they finally deliver a month later than promised with half your belongings broken/shattered/completely destroyed. Do yourself a favor, go with any other company out there even if you have to pay a little extra. The pain and misery that Cali relocation systems will put you through is just not worth it. read more

Where to begin. I was moving from Seattle to Los Angeles, and found California Relocation Systems, and their pricing and schedule matched what I needed so I went forward and hired them to do my move. Strike 1 - When they arrived they came around 9PM on the date of the move, in a Pensky rental truck, because they had to stop by their warehouse to unload their truck in order to make room for my stuff. 2 people came and by 11PM they were not even half way done, they were not covering anything, or labeling any of the boxes as they worked, just put stuff in the truck. By 12AM they informed me that not all my stuff would fit in, and they would need to come the next day to get the rest of my stuff, and that it would be an extra cost. (by then they had already loaded half my stuff so I didn't have any choice, but I was planning on driving down that same day, and now had to arrange for someone to let them into the house to move the rest of my stuff. Strike 2 - I selected them because they were able to deliver my goods before Christmas and only a day after my pregnant wife and I would had arrived in Los Angeles to pick up our keys and sign all the paperwork for our new place. The deliver day arrives no one shows up. I call them and they say they were delayed at another customers house, so they will deliver tomorrow. Tomorrow comes, no one shows up. call again, now they were caught by the Highway Patrol because they didn't have the necessary licenses to move stuff across state, so while the drivers and the company had to get through law enforcement, my pregnant wife and I were in our apt with none of our stuff. Strike 3 - By now Christmas is quickly approaching and my stuff had still not arrived. I called the manager to complain while my wife, crying, and I were sitting in the car, and he told me he had to leave because his family was late to a Christmas dinner, while we were stuck without a Christmas. Strike 4 - The day after Christmas the delivery people arrive, and I could tell they did not take good care of my stuff. For some reason my bicycle was taken apart, my dining table parts were broken, and worse of all my temperpedic matress was sitting in a pool of water in the truck and had grown mold on it. Not to mention all the crushed boxes and retapped boxes. Strike 5 - On the day of the delivery the delivery man also brought his young son (want to say like 10 or younger) to come and help him and the other guy unload, but again they were as slow unloading as they were loading. (they arrived at like 10am, and ended at like 7pm). there was 2 other moving companies that were moving in the same day as me, and they both finished before my guys did even though they arrived earlier. Strike 6 - During the move there is an ice cream truck that comes through the neighborhood, and while my wife and I were moving stuff around in our place, I look out the window and they are sitting in the corner eating ice cream and nachos. When they eventually start working again, they deliver items that were not part of my inventory (they delivered an old dirty broken A/C unit) and they end up not delivering our dehydrator and one of our tables. When they left at 7PM, they didn't even tell us they were done or anything and they just left without a word. They messaged me to tell me that the table was broken which is why they didn't deliver it and to claim it with the company. Strike 7- I contact the company with everything that happened, and they informed me that since I didn't purchase any insurance at the beginning of the move (which they never offered) that the best they could do was the bare minimum. which was paying out by weight of the item and not by the value. I sent them an itemized lists of items that were broken or missing and I listed out the MSRP and the weight and it came out to about $500 (even though the items were valued total over $2,000). they responded with $150 dollars for the claim. I have asked them how they came to that calculations, but its already been a couple years and I still have not heard why. I want to warn people about this company because they make promises that seem to good to be true. They also seem to be related to Quest Moving, as the person I contacted for my claim had Quest Moving in her email signature. Also the managers that I were talking to all had Google Voice numbers, which obviously makes it hard for people to track and contact as they can just get rid of their Google Voice number and make a new one. Also, why am I writing this review so late after the move? Remember that table they didn't deliver and was broken and needed to be claimed. The company said to call the driver and get a picture of the table to submit for the claim. Hiring California Relocation Systems How Could Everything Go So Wrong? I hired California Relocation Systems (CRS) to move our worldly goods from Clovis, CA to Tucson, AZ based on: * options I found on Moving.com * CRS's online statement, "We specialize in moving our customers out of California. We are California's #1 interstate company. We understand how stressful moving out of state can be and provide a one of a kind, exceptional customer experience." Mike Pistano, CRS Transport Consultant asked me questions over the phone about the contents of each room of our home. He gave me a written estimate of $6500 and asked for a down payment of $1,817.71. A consultant who accompanied the movers on July 5, 2019, claimed that we had an excessive amount of furniture and boxes. With no explanation for CRS's inaccurate estimate of the volume of our property, the consultant: * ordered an additional truck * doubled our estimate * demanded immediate payment of $8,515 for the move to proceed. With a legal deadline to move out of our sold house, I was compelled to write the check, which I assumed would be straightened out when the second truck arrived. The packers of both trucks took good care of my belongings and carefully wrapped furniture in moving blankets. Although they loosely packed the second truck, they still did not fill it up. Clearly, I was being shammed. Per our contract, CRS stored our belongings at no cost in their CA warehouse until we purchased a new home in Tucson. Once we bought our new home, we called CRS to deliver our property. Only one truck--a rental--arrived in Tucson. CRS: * outrageously required us to pay the remaining balance of $2,938.95 before they would unlock their truck and unload our belongings * denied us our right to first inspect our property and to determine if anything was missing or damaged before we paid the bill. I asked Jim Horky, CRS Assistant Operations Manager, how two trucks of property could be delivered to us in Tucson in a single truck. He said the truck to Tucson was packed more tightly and efficiently. In truth, only one truck delivered our property because CRS had: * "misplaced" a multitude of boxes and furniture, including: -the roll to my wife's prized antique rolltop desk -an Amish-crafted wooden glider * delivered a dining room tabletop without legs * brought the legs of a kitchen table without the tabletop I phoned Horky again to inquire how CRS could require full payment yet breach our contract. He said: * CRS would find and deliver our property to us * we should contact Dawn Wade, a CRS customer service rep, who committed to calling the warehouse and finding our property. A week later, Yaz, a remarkably able CRS mover I had made friends with from the second CRS truck in CA, called from the CRS warehouse in CA. Yaz said, "Hey Patrick, I understand that we have not delivered all your property to Tucson." He reassured us by showing us property via FaceTime, including: * rolltop * porch glider * dining room table legs * kitchen tabletop. About ten days later, the second truck--a rental--arrived in Tucson. Incredibly, CRS: * sent the truck with a driver and no movers to help unload * failed to deliver the porch glider and missing rolltop * unloaded several pieces of unwrapped, damaged furniture * delivered several unlabeled boxes that did not belong to us Yaz, the only CRS employee who sincerely tried to "make us whole": * was not at the warehouse when the second truck was loaded * did not know why the second truck failed to deliver the property we saw on FaceTime * promised to inquire and update us We called Dawn Wade to report having received someone else's property She asked if there were CRS stickers on those boxes, but those boxes lacked identification. With a complete lack of concern, she instructed us to put the boxes on the next CRS truck to deliver our remaining property. About two weeks later, a third truck--a rental--delivered the missing rolltop, the porch glider, and other items. As promised, we loaded the truck with the property that did not belong to us. In all, CRS picked up 1.5 truckloads, made 3 truck deliveries, lost an antique dresser and large closet organizer, delivered a damaged antique desk, and destroyed an antique library table beyond repair. CRS delivered: * reprehensible extortion tactics * lack of professional-grade customer service * poor and careless management of our property With the exception of Yaz, no representative of CRS apologized or showed they cared. Our move with CRS was so stressful, I succumbed to a bad case of Shingles. I urge you to reject CRS and choose a moving company that will not breach its estimate and contract. I have since read similar online stories by other dissatisfied CRS customers, and I have noticed that the negative reviews on CRS social media are always subsequently deleted. read more

This is probably the worst moving/hauling/carrier service company I have ever used, and I've used quite a lot even moving across the world. So let's start odd by saying I chose this company for the price and availability. They gave me an estimate for al the items I told them I had along with other items. So I got n estimate for about 2500$ to move to a different state. So they scheduled it to pick up the very last day I'm in my home state. When they arrived they arrive around 1 hour late at 1pm. Then the two gentlemen started assessing what we have them stated they cannot move anything untill another adjusted takes photos of the items. He did not show up until after 8pm, then said half my items I have are not on his list. At this point I'm furious but no one iv spoke to in regards to my items were answering or they were ignoring me. He then they charged me an extra 2200$ for the items that weren't on the list. Which was ridiculous but because that's as the last day I had no choice, and they knew that. Now fast forward to 4 weeks later in Minnesota, my pregnant wife and I are still waiting for our beds, everything we own, they keep telling me oh it'll leave tomorrow, same thing for over a week. They hired a third party company to haul my items. Now they are charging an extra 1k$ stating they have twnt a smaller truck because they can't access my house with the truck which is BS, now Thwy we're suppose to be here hours ago and still have not arrived. SCAM ALERT...California Relocation Systems was the worst customer experience I've had had in my life. Beware of this company. When things go wrong with your move (and they likely will) you will be dealing with people that are both inept at their jobs and completely uncaring for the customer. Here's what I experienced. Refer to the Better Business Bureau (F rating) along with other online reviews and you will see I'm one of many mistreated customers. * Changed quote (price/cubic foot) once truck was loaded, resulting in higher charge * Lost roughly 1/3 of all our items * Claim packet for lost items was received by them Feb 11th, as of Aug 18th they have not responded and will not answer any emails or phone calls * Only sent one mover to unload full truck at destination. They take your information and promise a "welcome" call and then Dawn promises that Jim will call 3-5 days prior to move to confirm everything. I got the call from Dawn but never received a confirmation call from Jim. I started calling them. NO RETURN calls. ON DAY OF MOVE some extortionist immediately says "you have more stuff than you said" No I did not. In fact, I had less because I sold off a lot and I packed my own trailer with things that I was not trusting drivers with. This character proceeds to tell me that my move was not going to be $5300 but $9000+. I began to cry because I didnt have that kind of money. After he kept trying to convince me, I said I cannot afford you and I'll have to figure something else out. I also told him that my salesman TOM LEE had promised me that this company would not do that. The driver left. Then, the manager Jim Horkey kept calling me to badger me How much can you afford? Well needless to say, I felt so extorted that I fired them. But, now, I had to hire another company and had to pay premium pricing. They also cost me an additional 10,000 because they wouldnt move my swim spa. If I had known they were going to do this I could have sold everything and started over in new place! I want to be perfectly clear. If I can give this company 0 stars I would. First off they're nice and friendly and they hook you in. Then when you agree to a contract the movers get there and upcharge since "you have more stuff than you said you did" we told Bill exactly what we had and that's exactly what we put on a truck and got charged 2500 MORE than the quoted price. They will accept cash, check or money order on the first half but the second is only cash or money order. I think its because they want to make sure they get paid even though they damage or LOSE your property. I had 3 huge boxes, my child's bike and the bed frame that belong to my now deceased best friend all just POOF DISAPPEAR. Now when the movers arrived they refused to offload ANYTHING until I signed saying my stuff was all there and nothing was damaged. Even filing a claim for the MISSING ITEMS the company refuses to accept responsibility, return calls or emails. *** Edit July 12 (One month after pick up date). After I made phone calls and multiple text messages, the company confirmed that the missing items are in the warehouse in South CA. They have been unable or unwilling to tell me *when* the items will be delivered. I get a one sentence text message that say 'I have not received news that you have been loaded". That is it. No news, no ETA, no accountability. Zero customer service. Quick to take the money upfront, then total disconnect and lack of follow up and accountability. *** engaging with this company was a disaster. Will keep updating. $14K move from California to Florida... weeks later half of my items are still missing. I do not recommend this company. Entered on a contract to move my items from CA to FL. After the initial consultation and such, the items were packed and shipped. Two weeks later only half of the items arrived. I'm talking about dozens of boxes were missing. Beds arrived without all the rails, or even mattresses, TVs are gone, dining sets are missing, baby crib, etc, etc. I complained and for the last two weeks I have been told "We are looking for them". That is it. No other explanation, no further guidance. Nothing. The support manager in charge seems helpful on the phone, and then will disconnect for a week without giving you an update. *** Will update assuming the company responds and deliver the missing boxes. Things happen, but the proper follow up and customer care is extremely disappointing., Items can't simply disappear. *** I hope my review helps other people to keep searching and a find a better company. They lie about not needing to buy, they are rude when you call them about broken and lost items and to this day have never paid me for severe damage and lost items from July 2019. STOP! DO NOT hire California Relocation Systems! They are professional scammers. Every 1-star review story is true. From the deflated, too-good-to-be-true initial estimate, to the mishandling and outright destruction and loss of my belongings, to the laughable "settlement". CRS's fine print, not only on their initial contract, but on the Interstate Bill of Lading Valuation Selections, Bill of Lading Contract and Order For Service and the Household Goods Descriptive Inventory, take away all your rights and ability to recover anything or get justice in court. You will not get your $.60 per lb. Beware of their words "of their right to REPAIR or replace" what is lost or damaged. They will not replace anything. They will offer you pennies to repair the irreparable. They will refuse to reimburse you, claiming you packed the items yourself, when in truth, they did. They screen my calls, hang up on me when I call from an unlisted number, and even refused my certified letter at the front desk. (See screen shot). There were a total of 35 complaints about them last year. Sam, the moving foreman (his real name is Husam Khalifa), showed up very late with his crew. He changed my estimate to much more, saying I didn't describe the size and amount of my belongings truthfully to George, which is not the case. I was very detailed and took accurate measurements so there would be no surprises on moving day. He demanded cash only, and reminded me it was too late to get my initial deposit back because the movers were already there. He knew there were new tenants coming to move in in the morning. I cannot tell you what a helpless feeling that was. One of their movers appeared to be on drugs. He refused to stop using the elevators and was eventually kicked off the premises by administration. When he wouldn't leave, they called the police. I ended up paying for Uber to come take him away. This can be easily verified by the Sares Regis Group affiliated with my former apartment managers. To the other 1-STAR yelpers, our best recourse is to report all of them (George Harris, Jim Horkey, Dawn Wade) to as many people and places and organizations as possible to prevent them from doing it to someone else. read more

I didn't give California Relocation Systems my business, I made them earn it. I really liked Kristin's persistence and her honesty. She encouraged me to get other quotes and what to look for and she called me every 3 or 4 days like I had asked to check in on me. As soon as we closed on the house in Georgia I was going to book a company. I only had so many weeks before I needed to be in there and start working. My company required me to bring them 3 estimates. California Relocation Systems weren't the cheapest but my manager agreed to pay a little extra to do business with them. The crew was on time an moving day. They were worked hard and fast. It was very impressive to see that level of teamwork from a moving company. This definitely was their first rodeo. Overall, it was an excellent experience with CRS. They made my transition as smooth as moving across the country can be. Great job guys. read more

The price was the main reason I ended up going with Calireview was the service that I received before, during and after the move. The sent me a welcome guide that really helped me know how to pack everything.  It also helps with timelines. I have never moved across the country and naturally I was a little nervous. Color coated all of my boxes for the different rooms and had the guys pack up my kitchen and all of my sports memorabilia. Anas and his team was extremely professional. They took care of my furniture and went above and beyond to make sure everything was properly covered. They worked efficiently throughout the move. I rewarded them with dinner and  a nice tip. They gave me expedited delivery for free although the price went up $430 on move day but I did add a few items. Overall I give them 5 stars. I'm glad a went with Cali Relocation Systems. read more

Some boxes are missing. 4 months on and we still have not heard a thing about the lost items, which contain valuables. they ignore our calls and whenever we email they respond that our claim is in processing stages and that we should give it at least 90 business days to resolve. 90 business days!!! They were really good at getting you quote and keeping you updated before the move. On the day of the move, we packed everything ourselves except some bigger furniture pieces such as sofa and bed and mattress. But we got mattress protector by ourselves too. Anyway, we had almost everything in big black and yellow container box which can be stacked up easily to save space. After they loaded everything into the truck. They said they can't load things all the way up to the top and need to charge us another 1800. Which was a huge difference compare to the quote they gave us initially. They measure space by the truck bay they used not the actual Sf of all the item they initially gave us Quote. When we refuse to pay that extra price. They threaten to Dump all of stuff. I think they know most people have to move out of the place when they use this type of service so they don't have much choices to find another company to move again! We eventually negotiate to a lower price after almost like 30 to 45 min sitting there with them fake calling their boss and telling us this is how they run their business! (In terms of the the price they have quoted for you are not accurate! It should be based on how they can loaded the stuff on the truck) this all doesn't make sense to Me. Beware! This company may have moved their "address" to Northern CA. They work virtually and there is no office. They moved our belongings to FL. Their driver and foreman stole $40,000 worth of heirlooms from us. They damaged about $5,000. They sent us a check for $100.00 for our trouble. They claimed that we had done our own packing, after they had packed the whole house. The thieves all quit at once. The company head, George, hung up on us and Kristin and Dawn said it wasn't their responsibility. Then they no longer took our calls or responded to our emails. I'm in the middle of a claim with them right now. They're completely unresponsive so I guess I'm going to have to take them to court. My move couldn't have been a bigger nightmare. They violated almost every rule on the fcdta website. They gave me a quote over the phone. After loading my stuff poorly and slowly, they jacked up the price by $2000. Then I was forced to pay a large portion of my bill before they would deliver. Then they took the truck back up to LA from San Diego and repacked it without all the wasted space. Then they lost my dining table. Then they left to take my stuff to Idaho on a Friday when they said they were leaving on wed. That was bad for me because I wasn't ready to move and felt too rushed. This was a tactic to rush me into it so I couldn't do my research or get other quotes. Then my stuff arrived late! I'm pretty sure they violated labor laws and have no workers comp because one of our movers cut himself with a boxcutter and need stitches. Both guys says they wanted to keep working because thier company wouldn't pay for his care. When I told the company, they told me they look into and never called me back. Thier guy was bleeding everywhere. I felt sorry for the movers because they wanted to keep thier jobs but they weren't aware of thier rights. This company breaks all the moving laws and overcharges like crazy. They don't let you measure your stuff on thier truck. It's a simple math equation length x width x height to get the cubic foot of your furniture on thier truck. When I measured I was horrified to know that even my original quote was bloated. We hired this company to move our things from California to North Carolina. Almost 2 months have passed since our items were picked up (May 16, 2019) and we still don't have our things. We had to buy new furniture and clothes because they have everything. California Relocation Systems has never called us with any updates. Every contact with them was initiated by myself or my husband until we got the police involved. Based on other 1-star reviews I've seen, they will try to counter everything I'm saying with a response full of lies. Scott Davis, Jim Horky, and the owner, George Harris have all hung up on us and have been screening our calls. Someone at the company has very obviously forged my signature on at least 4 documents. I am in the process of filing a police report for the forged signatures and am working with an attorney to address their fraudulent business practices and our missing shipment. I'm not one to write reviews but I feel morally obligated to warn others of the horrendous experience (and unethical) that has occurred with California relocation systems. Something has gone wrong at every step of this move. At pick up in Los Angeles, Anas seemed great (despite charging me an extra $1,000 than was originally quoted) and even modified my EDD date as this was explained incorrectly to me (it is not the earliest date you want your items delivered but the earliest date they can be moved). I hear nothing from the company for over a week when I was guaranteed by Anas our furniture would leave latest by that Wednesday after a Saturday pick up. I find out my EDD date had never been changed and was then modified after the fact. My furniture then stayed in storage for almost 4 weeks in California with no updates. My items finally arrive July 11th and I receive an extra charge from the movers because they were told by CRS that my entryway was too small to fit the 18 wheeler (which was untrue, photos below) and I was responsible for the uhaul charge. I brought this up with Dawn at customer service, and she didn't even address the issue upon the return email. My items get delivered and we find a broken dining chair (looks like it has been thrown against a wall), a broken floor lamp, a missing box packed by Anas and his crew AND a 3 seater portion of my couch (how do you lose this?). We also were given a box which wasn't ours. This also happens to be the only portion of my couch that can stand alone (in someone else's apartment). I attempted to contact Anas to assist me in locating these missing items last seen by him and his crew with no answer. I have been in contact with customer service (whenever I can get ahold of them which is about 20% of the time) to be told that the warehouse is looking for my items. It has now been 3 weeks that they have been "looking for my items" in one warehouse and a month and half since they picked up my furniture. Everyone seems friendly at first (Jim, Brenda, Dawn, Cindy), until you call more than one time and you get the same cookie cutter answer (or they start screening your calls) with absolutely no urgency and no admission of fault with regards to the fact that my items have been lost or stolen. do not use this moving company, not only did I get charged an extra $1,000 above what was quoted at pick up (due to the couch) but I was also not re-quoted at delivery (which I was promised) and obviously would have been lower seeing as they did not load an ENTIRE COUCH onto the moving truck. read more

PLS STAY AWAY FROM CALIFORNIA RELOCATION SYSTEMS. What a horrible experience. They are very prompt in proving quotes, doing follow ups and making sure we pay the initial deposit. They followed up a couple of days before the stated pick up dates and showed up on time. I informed them my new address on July 6 and asked them for an ETA for the goods to be delivered. This is where the ordeal begins. The customer service rep (Dawn Wade) is highly incompetent. The only answer she can say is "I will update you once I load your stuff in the truck". She has absolutely no clue when that would be done. She claimed that they have their own trucks and also work with other carriers (This was surprising as the person I spoke initially claimed they own all their trucks and they are a full service company). Their contact # often goes to voice mail and she responds to emails (most of them) repeating the same answer like a parrot. A dumb answering machine can do that. When I requested her to call her truck department and expedite, she flatly refused. After umpteen follow ups, they delivered my stuff only to see that they missed 3 of my boxes and broke my TV. Their offer is to pay $0.60/lb for my TV. Wow, at 30 lbs, that would fetch me a cool $18/- for TV worth $300+ read more

I had to give one star so the system allows me to write my comment otherwise CALI RELOCATION COMPANY deserves nothing but tons of negative rating. They quoted me something on the phone by going through each items in my house and sounded so nice first and had their own volume guidelines per items and estimated and collected the first payment on the phone. They called me a few days right before a set schedule date for pick up and asked for one day earlier day to pick up. I had no choice but to agree due to not having enough time to choose another company plus I had already paid them the first payment. On pick up day, their moving guys came and started to pack things and then their supervisor showed up to once again estimate before loading the truck. The new guy's estimate was more than double than their first estimate. He said if I cancel due to increase amount I would loose my deposit. Not sure as why their estimate guidelines were different. And new estimator claims the first estimator had no knowledge about estimating. At that time I started feeling like I was dealing with wrong people but unfortunately, at that moment I agreed to pay the forced increase second payment just to empty my house in order to meet my tight deadline. They finally delivered the stuff right on thanks-giving day which was not even discussed as being the delivery date. Before they even opened their truck to start unloading my items, they collected the remaining balance. And I was hoping with all these trouble they would deliver everything at that time so I wont have to deal with them anymore. They brought only 40% of my belongings and they claimed they have no idea where the rest is. They seemed very rude on the phone when I called the next day to search for my stuff and they hang up on me twice when I asked for explanation. They finally brought majority of the remaining items few weeks later and to this point they have not delivered several items including a bag of important medical supplies. I have submitted claim but knowing how they operate, am sure not much they can do and they are not responding to claims for several months after it is submitted. My experience with Cali Relocation Company has been a nightmare and total chaos. The only item that they have with high degree of efficiencies is collecting their payments from unaware/honest customers and not delivering as they first promise. On top of that, their customer service and ethics are totally unprofessional and way below average. I have reported them to DOT and better business bureau and hope they do something so others don't get mistreated. read more

I used California Relocation for my moving from CA to WA. It was an extremely traumatic experience. My possessions were vandalized, several furniture items and two boxes were lost. Although I immediately followed with the required claim form and followed all the procedures, the company did absolutely nothing to retrieve my items or pay for the damage. Do not under any circumstances employ them! They are a bunch of liers and procrastinators who will strip you of your money and do nothing in return. Do not fall into their trap of sweet talking; it will only end in a great disappointment and frustration. read more

If only a negative rating was allowed, Cali Relocation Systems would receive it. My experience, just like all the other negative reviews on here, was anything except easy. Cali Relocation Systems caused my interstate move to be much more stressful than it had to be. We dealt with Jim and Dawn during the estimate and moving process. Multiple times we were assured the following: -The process would be smooth. -Internal stairs of a two-story home were included in the estimate. Only external stairs would be charged extra. -There would be no additional fees or charges once the movers arrived at our home to load everything into the truck. -There would be a truck headed to the same area we were moving to just a few days later and we would "piggyback" on that load. -We would have all our belongings by 4th of July so we could relax in our new home and sleep in our own bed. -They would take excellent care of our belongings because they know how important our things are to us. -We paid extra for a pallet jack due to some heavier items. -They would have a professional team to do our move. Here is what actually happened: -The process was extremely smooth, until they received our deposit. At that point they gave us a time frame of a few days when they would be picking up our belongings. -The movers attempted to charge us for the internal stairs of our two-story home. We had to call Jim to get that straightened out. -We were charged an additional amount because, "your cubic footage is larger than estimated" and "in order to make sure your belongings don't get damaged we have to take up more room in the truck". -The company suddenly had no idea when we would be getting our items and reminded us of the contract that states that delivery could be anywhere within a 30-day time frame after the "first available" delivery date. -We went almost a month without our belongings. -Almost every single piece of furniture, appliance, etc. delivered to us was damaged, dented, or broken. -They used the pallet jack we paid for in order to load our heavier belongings from our old house onto their truck. When they arrived at our new home there was no pallet jack and my husband and the single driver had to use furniture movers to unload these heavy items from the truck and into our new home. -When they arrived at our old home there was a team of four men doing the moving. When our belongings finally arrived at our new home there was a single man who had to go hire an assistant off a Craig's List ad in order to get some help moving. In addition, my husband helped with a good portion of the moving. As indicated on the contract, I labeled every item that was damaged on the inventory list. I took pictures of these damaged items before the truck even left. Pictures and a detailed list of items and damages were emailed to Brenda Murphy, the claims specialist. She acknowledged receipt of my email and informed me that I needed to fill out their claim form. I did so and emailed the competed form back to her. Once again, she acknowledged receipt. The claim form that they sent me stated that claims would be resolved within 90 days. When 90 days had come and gone I called to get an update on the status of my claim. Brenda claimed that Cali Relocation Systems had 90 business days to resolve my claim and, because it was an interstate move, DOT regulations actually allowed them up to 120 business days. We received a settlement offer in the mail approximately 100 days after the filing of my claim. The amount they offered was not even reasonable and they conveniently left off some of our items our rejected them saying that they were our responsibility to package. We did package the items. They dragged our items across floors, tearing the packaging apart and damaging the property. When we sent back a certified letter to Cali Relocation Systems on 1/8/2020 they refused to sign for it on 1/10/2020. We have since emailed them a copy of the letter. read more

Used them to move from CA to RI. It was a big mistake. Overpriced. Unprofessional communication. They underquote. Many of our things were broken. Poorly packed. Used craigslist at our house to hire scum to unload. I imagine that is why almost $5k in power tools was stolen at some point... and no intention of helping us replace any of it. Update 5/26/19: Cali Relocation Systems's QA dept called to ostensibly discuss our complaints but true to form, this rep was also belligerent and rude UNLESS he thought my husband was also on the call. hmmm. Their first response to our formal claim was about 8% of the overcharges presented in an undated and unsigned letter; their second offer from the QA guy was less than 1/7 of their overcharges; didn't include damages; and he wanted us to take down our reviews in order to even get that amount. When I refused to remove our reviews until the entire case was resolved, he became even more disrespectful and aggressive. When he couldn't bully me into submission he hung up on me. During packing/loading, I had been bullied and threatened into signing the Bill of Laden at 11:30 pm in a dark and cold and desolate burn zone caused by the Paradise Camp Fire. I was by myself with their crew and felt increasingly vulnerable and scared. I had already been victimized by the fire and these guys have no shame in additionally victimizing their customers with bait and switch and bullying, coercive tactics. read more

I really wish we could give ZERO stars and here's why... We moved from So. Cal to NC a few weeks ago. The original experience was amazing working with Bill and Jim. They were friendly and informative and really kept us at ease. We scheduled our pick up and while the movers were awesome and really friendly they were really late from their arrival time so what was supposed to be a late morning load turned into an evening load which fine, I get things happen. Things were fine until we got transferred over to Dawn. This is where things got bad. She's very rude with responses, doesn't return phone calls and takes a few days to respond to emails. We scheduled our delivery date to be October 19th as the FIRST AVAILABLE DELIVERY DATE so I made sure I could be home and can be there when they unload. I was promised a call or text 24hrs before delivery and I ended up getting a text at 6am from the movers that they were going to be at my house that evening. I wasnt home and asked where the courtesy call was and got no response so I had to reschedule them to arrive the next day which was the actual FDDA (First delivery date available) and was told that if I did that I might have to pay a reschedule fee which wasn't ok since they are the ones that aren't keeping with contact or their word on what to expect. Anyways, the 19th rolls around, I made sure to be ready at 9:30 am when the movers said they will arrive. Waited, waited and waited until 12:45pm and got a call they can't get to my house cuz the road was too narrow. By this point I was pissed and told them to figure it out cuz there's only one way in and out of my community. So they figured it out and we got everything unloaded and sent them on their way. Now a day later after unpacking and looking for everything I noticed I'm missing over 10 items and I magically have some random items that aren't mine and they have no stickers, name or any thing that allows me to return it to their rightful owner. I emailed Dawn, called Dawn and didn't get a response until I sent a passive aggressive email demanding a response on what to do next. The items missing are very important items and one of them belonged to my best friend who is now deceased so that isn't replaceable to me. Yes it's just stuff but I'm losing out on those important things I trusted and paid someone over 4grand to move and be responsible for. I highly highly suggest you find someone else to move your things, or really do research on cross country movers. I wouldn't ever recommend this company to anyone. Oh side note, they allow you to pay via card over the phone and accept checks or cash on load date however they will only accept cash or USPS money order on delivery date. So be sure to have an exact amount because ours went from maybe 2500 to over 4grand. read more
