There aren't a lot of fast food restaurants that I feel compelled to write a review on, but the service at Captain D's was so good that I had to post a review. A feeling of nostalgia washed over me as I entered the newly opened restaurant. I visited Captain D's often when I was a "poor starving graduate student" at the University of Delaware (Go Blue Hens!).
The cashier was pleasant and helpful as she took my order. She advised that drink carriers were available if needed. It's unusual to even get offered napkins these days, so I observed the operations as the cashiers took drive-thru orders, helped diners with condiments, and package my order.
The menu has changed over the years, but not the value proposition... fried seafood at a budget price. I order two dinners from the Seniors menu (available on Wednesdays and Sundays) and took them home to share with my wife. My appetite was more than sated, as each entree was accompanied by two sides and hushpuppies.
I think I over did it on fried foods this time. read more
