As I said, it had been a while, and he was so patient with me, giving me time to review the drive-thru menu, and I decided on the sampler! And just like I thought, it was made to order like always. Decided to try something new. I ordered a couple of dinners, and found the pricing to be pretty good. The offerings seem appropriate for the type of business. Service was great. The ambiance is casual. However, I was disappointed in the size and thinness of the fish fillets. Although the pricing is reasonable, I feel reasonable for heartier fillets. First time I made it to Captain D's. I did drive thru and the server was not too good. It took minutes for the server to take the order. I have the rewards app and it didn't work. They only have to scan the qr code, server didn't get it. Now the good part is they freshly cook the food it took a bit of time for the food to be given but that's worth it. So fresh and well done. The food is delicious. I plan to go again but I hope a better server is there to serve. read more

There aren't a lot of fast food restaurants that I feel compelled to write a review on, but the service at Captain D's was so good that I had to post a review. A feeling of nostalgia washed over me as I entered the newly opened restaurant. I visited Captain D's often when I was a "poor starving graduate student" at the University of Delaware (Go Blue Hens!). The cashier was pleasant and helpful as she took my order. She advised that drink carriers were available if needed. It's unusual to even get offered napkins these days, so I observed the operations as the cashiers took drive-thru orders, helped diners with condiments, and package my order. The menu has changed over the years, but not the value proposition... fried seafood at a budget price. I order two dinners from the Seniors menu (available on Wednesdays and Sundays) and took them home to share with my wife. My appetite was more than sated, as each entree was accompanied by two sides and hushpuppies. I think I over did it on fried foods this time. read more

I came here because I wanted to eat some seafood, but did not want pay and arm and a leg for it. I ordered the fish and chicken with macaroni and okra. I love the fact you have an array of sides like fries, mash potatoes, okra, macaroni with your meal. You can also choose from chicken, fish, or both. The meals are pretty good size and filling. The staff is very kind and confirm your order to make sure everything is correct. I appreciate the employees coming and bringing the food to the table. I could tell the manager cares about the store as the tables, booths, and floors were spotless. Being from the east coast, I love Captain D's. I was very excited to have one opening so close to where I live. It's a nice, new location. It had just opened, so it was pretty busy inside and the drive thru. I always get the fish sandwich, and was pretty excited that they had a spicy version here. It was tasty as always. My husband gets the four piece fish platter, which he likes a lot. It's super inexpensive, and I think it's great. If you eat inside, there are all the sauces, which I take full advantage of, I'm a fan of their tartar sauce. They also have solid sweet tea. The staff did a great job of taking care of customers efficiently. I will definitely be going here on a regular basis. I need to see if they still do a side order of breadsticks next time I go, I remember them being really delicious. read more

Six people deep we are all parked waiting for our food. One woman came inside and screamed at the woman. Basically the people by the bushes have been waiting like 20 minutes. If you cannot keep up with orders close the line down. Also, the owner get a new cook or get more cooks. Also, I don't think pregnancy should be talked about behind the counter when y'all aren't getting orders out in a timely manner. It's so bad the people inside don't even have their orders. We have been sitting here 30 minutes so far and no food they're people that have been here before us. Do better this is ridiculous. The food was delicious, but if I had one complaint, it would be that my fish was not hot. It was room temperature, which I did not care for. The Service was excellent from the moment my husband and I stepped through the door. There was a middle-aged black woman at the register who was very kind, professional and had a smile that warmed our hearts. She was patient and had good knowledge of the menu to offer. I was told this Captain D's just opened in November. I was happy with my meal and the service, so I thought I'd write a review. Stopped in for a Deluxe Seafood Plater. When I entered was nicely greeted by the manager. She answered a few questions I had about the menu, and thanked me after I ordered. We were happy that they made a Captain D's in our area, so we decided to try them during the week of their grand opening. We chose to go through the drive thru & the person taking orders was rude, and not the most welcoming. Ordered my food, got home and realized it was all wrong. Drove back & went inside to get it corrected because the drive thru line was too long. I vowed to never visit this place again. 0-1 Visit 2: Ok, I know I said I'd never come here again, but I figured why not give them another chance? Surely it can't go wrong again, right? I was definitely not dressed to go inside, so decided to go through the drive thru. Once again, the worker was not welcoming, did not get the order right and didn't say bye or thank you. She just handed me my bag and turned around and took another order, Freaking rude!! My wife told me to be sure to check the order this time since we learned from our previous experience, so I checked it and sure enough they didn't get my sides correct. (Plus my order) I go inside to get it corrected and the lack of enthusiasm was all over the workers faces. So they correct my order, I get home and realize they gave me 2 or the same orders even though I ordered 2 different things. By this time I'm furious, I had to drive back while hangry, go inside because the drive thru takes too long (remember I'm not dressed to get out) and I go inside and make my complaint. I go in, ask for a manager and explain my situation and also bring up that I've had a similar issue in the past, & that my previous experience was not the best. My wife and I had the fried seafood platter. The shrimp were very tiny and looked nothing like the picture on the menu. They were all breading and with smashed baby shrimp inside. The fish was tasty, and we would eat again. The stuffed crab was good. The fries were just a cheap frozen tasteless product, which is what we expected for the cheap price. The hush puppies were light and very good. The coleslaw was very good. What really upset us was that we ordered 2 medium drinks. they were a cup full of ice that was flavored with about 4 ounces of soft drink and there were no refills!!!
