A new South Indian restaurant has opened in Watertown, MA! What an incredible addition to the neighborhood. Coming from NY, where we are lucky to have an abundance of Indian Restaurants, I was truly impressed with this small restaurant. Expect a wait for a table on weekends. They can probably seat around 30 ppl max.
Chennai Eats has a wide range of dishes on their menu. Menu items range from Dosas, Parotas, Biryanis, Indo-Chinese dishes, Breads, Meat and Vegetable dishes. It's a pretty large menu for a small fast-casual restaurant. (Seey photo for full menu).
My party of 6 shared an enormous amount of food. Yup, the eyes are bigger than our stomaches and we over ordered. But absolutely no complaints! We got to try a variety of items and enjoyed the leftovers! We tried 3 lamb dishes, a goat dish, 3 different Dosas (which were fantastic!) , two chicken dishes, garlic Naan, and a few other dishes. I must say, everything was great except one dish: Onion Pakora appetizer. Our server told us that one order wasn't enough for 6 ppl to share, so we ordered two portions. (One order was enough!) This was my least fave dish of the night. I could barely taste any onion. But everything else was great.
Customer service was friendly and efficient. But don't be surprised if you get a little rushed at the end of your meal if there is a line of ppl waiting for a table. Like I mentioned before, this is a small restaurant with limited seating. But well worth the wait! read more
