Corkscrew BBQ was touted as one of the best around. Needless to say, I was looking forward to this in a big way as I love BBQ meats. We arrived prior to opening, and there was a line wrapped around the building. That is when my excitement level notched up. I was told that more times than not, Corkscrew usually sells out; so they remain open as long as they have product to sell. Initially, I ordered the 1/2 lb brisket plate. In my conversation with the gentleman taking our order, a suggestion was made to get 1/4 lb pulled pork, 14 lb lean brisket, and 1 rib - which I did. Simply put, this was hands down the best BBQ I've had thus far. The lean brisket was melt in your mouth tender. The rib was out of this world amazing! Smoke rings on both the brisket and rib were definitely apparent, and the flavor permeated the meat. I wish my visit to the Houston area would be a bit longer just so I could enjoy such great BBQ again. read more
