Corning's Gaffer District is a great place to go if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, or just to unwind from the busy life we all have. It's a small town after all. So, a weekend would be perfect, i.e. do not expect a whole lot to see.
The glass-making session was such a unique experience. You can pick from making a colorful glass ornament to a vibrant glass flower. It's required to pick up your glasswork the next day from the proper cooling and packout processes.
The museum part was also quite eye-opening to see what people can make with glass materials.
As for restaurants, I personally like the Old World Cafe & Ice Cream and the Cugini Italian Market & Cafe. Nice people, good food, very festive. Friendly people, very chatty, like them a lot! LOL.
