There's something to be said about a restaurant that has been around for more than a quarter-century.
Since '91, David's Kitchen has provided their self-proclaimed "No Frills" Chinese Cuisine for both dine-in and take-out. You won't find any vegan mapo tofu, pork belly two-ways, Chinese-Vietnamese Pho mashups, or lemongrass-infused anything here. They're The Rolling Stones of Chinese food ... sure, they don't chart any new hits these days, they just keep on playing the classics, and the fans keep coming.
We started with half-dozen Pot Stickers, which may be the best in town. I like the mild sauce a little more than the hot ... yum, either way.
We also started with a bowl of Wonton Soup. Let yours cool down before you bite into a broccoli floret...ouch! It's like any good wonton soup with an abundance of shrimp, pork, veggies, and (of course) wontons in a very light chicken broth.
I recommend the Sweet & Sour Pork. A little crunch, a little bit of sour, and the perfect amount of sweet. It isn't too heavy on the soy sauce or garlic, just the right amount of ginger, and is fried to a golden brown. My wife got this, and was charitable enough to go halfsies ... she got the best dish in the house.
I got the lemon chicken, which is SWEET ... the way I like it. You could put the lemon topping on your pancakes in the morning. Again, the deep-fried outside is golden and crispy ... and I love that chicken!
