Head-shop, Local History, Biker Paraphernalia, and scattered antiques. The Devils Workshop has been a Niles staple since 1969 and is still family-operated, it is an absolute time-capsule that is worth visiting.
Because of the diversity of whats inside here are mini-summaries:
-Headshop: Hand-held and larger glass pieces. Pretty large selection of incense and even bundles of Sage and Juniper for spiritual cleansing. They make their own branded incense which is bad-ass in all black and has a slight sweet smell. They have a large selection of CDB for you and your pets.
-Motorcycle Culture: Inside right they have leathers and gear and a sub-lease for a a gentleman that does custom leather. Throughout the shop you'll find plenty of Biking Culture accessories... Notable is they carry a huge selection of KD brand sunglasses the cheap sunglasses made famous by ZZ top and Sons of Anarchy. I bought a pair, the legs are thinner than normal and easier to put on and off when helmet is on.
-Local History: Bill was working the day I went in and knows a lot about local history. They have a wall of prints by Chris Walsh who has painted some nostalgic buildings locally. I liked hearing about the tinfoil ceiling his dad put up near the entrance and the shops origins as a candle shop.
-Antiques: I don't think these are for sale but a preview is the classic wood indian outside. Inside you'll find scattered antiques that were cool to see: an old mirror for trying on your sunglasses, a gas pump near the t-shirts, penny-farthing bicycle when you walk in. etc....
The hours are odd from family schedules but they plan on keeping weekend hours till things stabilize. read more
