My husband and I unintentionally saw Dumpling Kitchen Express while shopping in the Castro Valley Marketplace and was pleasantly surprised to see it there! They're still in soft opening mode when we came on 12/10. We got there about 15 mins before closing so we'll need to stop by again when it's grand opening! Since we got there super late, they didn't have everything on the menu left and I'm sure the food was sitting for a bit in the display case. Note that this is an express location so it's not a sit down restaurant - it's like dim sum to go! We tried some baos which were tasty. We liked the shumai the best out of everything we tried! We also ordered the pork soup dumplings but there was no soup inside (probably because we came end of the day so it was sitting for a bit). Everyone was super nice and very helpful as we were ordering! I was excited to see the frozen dumpling section too! Looking forward to trying those next time!
