I was crushed when my old, beloved desktop, "Big Bertha" died. ("Big" because she was LOADED with pictures and videos of my travels with my dogs!) Everything I loved -including old college papers from WAY too-many-years-ago! - was in that computer. It was pretty devastating. A co-worker suggested that I consider getting a new one built for me. But I'm no kid. Which means I have a distrust of anything too "tech-y."
Well, I had gone to Eastwind in the past and had been impressed with their integrity, so I decided to take the plunge and have a whole new computer created for me. Yes, "from the ashes" of the old, much-loved one.
And they did it!
Yes, the computer now has "Windows 10" (as versus my old pal "Windows 7"), but Bryce - the genius architect of my new computer! - made it very used-friendly for me. He also checked off every item on my list that I wanted in that computer, including programs I needed to create DVDs. He was very patient - and tenacious when hitting any glitches. He was determined to give me exactly what I wanted!
Some issues were solved while in their shop, but some were solved "remotely." Which is a marvel, BTW! Problems solved "while in the comfort of your own home!"
Anyone reading this who is (ahem) of Baby Boomer vintage understands the hesitation a lot of us have regarding computers. There is a great deal to master, and it can feel overwhelming. But the folks at Eastwind know this. I was SO impressed with them! From Karen at the front desk, to Michael - who pitched in when Bryce wasn't there - to James, the boss. All stellar.
But I have to save my greatest accolades for Bryce, who created a brand new desktop computer for me. (Yes, filled with all my old pictures and videos and with a TON of room for more.) He was SO patient! I brought in a whole list of "have-to's," and he made sure we checked off every one. The next day, when I had questions, he was there for me. And follow-up, after a sale means everything.
Thank you, Eastwind Computers! read more
