We stopped here for dessert, and this was my first time trying El Almendron. First impression, it was clean and they have nice shaded tables to sit and enjoy your pastries. You can see them making the food fresh right inside the food truck.
We picked three desserts to share. I tried the yellow egg cake first, and it ended up being my least favorite. Since it was my first time trying egg cake, I'm not exactly sure what it's supposed to taste like, but the icing was very hard and just not for me. Next I tried a tres leches type cake, and that was definitely my favorite of the three. The last one was a nice flaky pastry that we all enjoyed.
I'll be honest, I probably should have paid more attention to the details since I planned on leaving a review, but I was focused on getting to know my new friend. The lady working there was very sweet and even came out to let my husband know he had overpaid and brought him his change, which I really appreciated.
Overall, it was okay. Not bad, just not something I'd go out of my way for. read more
