I'm giving El Tiny Cafe five stars, easy. Yelp brought me here because of the strong ratings, and I have to say I completely agree with the hype. This spot is in Berkeley and it definitely has a vibe. At first I didn't fully understand the whole "tiny" concept until we ordered and everything clicked. I got one of their burritos and had that moment of thinking, okay... how many of these am I going to need? But nope, that wasn't the case at all. It's not one of those massive, oversized tortillas. It's a real, standard burrito, the kind my Mexican mom would make for me before school. Simple, comforting, and filling in the best way. Because of that, the price point feels very fair.
The flavors are what really stood out to me. Everything tastes homemade, like someone's mom's recipe, and that's honestly hard to find. The service was also really nice, super warm, and welcoming. I grabbed a double shot coffee and it absolutely woke me up for the drive back to LA, which was very much needed. There's something about this place that feels hidden and special, not trying too hard, just doing things right.
My favorite little moment was when I went to grab a complimentary water cup and saw how tiny it was. I literally laughed and then it hit me. Ohhh. Tiny Cafe. I totally get it now. It's charming, it's intentional, and it works. Highly recommend stopping here for the burritos and the vibe. This place is tiny as hell, in the best way possible. read more
