As a guest at Red Cliffs Lodge I was able to enjoy both breakfast and dinner at Ember. Firstly, the view is absolutely incredible. Sunrise in the morning having breakfast, and then all the colours of the evening sky at night. Can't beat it.
Breakfast was good, I tried the Eggs Benedict, breakfast burrito, and the omelette with leeks, bacon and cheese. The omelette was by far the best, and the breakfast potatoes were a delight. My server was just wonderful and made breakfast an absolute pleasure.
In the evening, as travelling alone I opted to sit at the bar. The bar itself wasn't that well stocked (they were out of several beers I had asked for), but they did make an incredible old fashioned. The bartender was polite and helpful but wasn't the most talkative, but the food and whiskey more than compensated. The Heirloom Tomato Caprese appetiser was delicious. Sadly, they also seemed to be out of a few entree options (both the gnocchi and chicken) so I had the shrimp kebabs. They were delicious!
Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. And the surrounding scenery is simply incredible. read more
