Had a great experience at Far Bar, nestled in the heart of Little Tokyo. The atmosphere is fantastic, combining a chill gastropub vibe with the historic charm of the space--it even has a hidden patio that's perfect for hanging out. We were lucky to be seated right by the window, which gave us a perfect view of the street, including the iconic gate of Little Tokyo. It was a great spot to enjoy our meal and watch the world go by.
Originally, we just stopped by to use the bathroom and weren't expecting to stay. Being able to sit down and enjoy a meal was a pleasant surprise. We ordered a 'Hey Goodlooking' mocktail, and it was refreshingly complex, with just the right balance of sweet and tangy. A mocktail that feels this close to whiskey? Impressive!
The karaage bowl was decent, though the chicken might have been a little overfried, giving it a slightly tougher texture than expected. Still, it was a filling dish. The real star of the meal, however, was Ming's Wings. They were easily my favorite--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor, especially with the green onions and peppers on top.
The service was fast and attentive, making the experience even better. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area! read more
