Fetch is located inside the contemporary Black Rock Oceanfront Resort with a dramatic view of the Pacific Ocean and the black volcanic rocks along the bay and the surge channel. We dined at the restaurant 3 times during our 3-night stay at the resort - dinner for our first evening and breakfast on the following 2 days - and we enjoyed every visit. Dinner at the restaurant for my partner's birthday was an excellent choice. We loved our courses from starters all the way through desserts and coffee. Starters were tuna nicoise and asparagus soup with seared scallop. Tuna nicoise is a genius idea with all the best elements of a salade nicoise without the unnecessary greens. The soft boiled quail egg was an excellent touch. The succulent scallop was paired nicely with the rich base on the soup. For main courses, I had seared scallops (again) & calamari with angel hair pasta and my partner had herb crusted halibut. My scallops were again wonderfully succulent, calamari was light and crispy, and the side pasta was very tasty but not heavy at all. We had a wonderful meal by the window overlooking the ocean We were hoping to see a pod of orcas swimming by but we were not as lucky as the diners the week before.
