This event was okay, much smaller than I had anticipated seeing how it was the 10th annual event. The park was easy to get to, and plenty of parking. At first I had no idea where to go since I had never been here before, so make sure you tell the guy at the entrance you are here for this event and they will let you in sans charging you for parking. I asked and said I was lost and the guy told me where to go and let me in for free. For this event though, it does say free parking on their website, so let the entrance people know! I did donate the $20 to get the shirt and do some trick or treating with my pup. For your donation, you get 2 raffle tickets, a t-shirt, a water bottle and go trick or treating at the 6 stations they have. For your bag, it was just a plain plastic shopping bag. I think it would had been nicer to get a reusable bag... my plastic bag got all tore up. The 6 stations give you some candles for the 2 legged people and some dog treats/items for the 4 legged ones. Most dogs had some sort of costume. They also had some exhibitors giving out free samples as well. There was only one food truck present though and I hoped there would be more present. This event is free if you don't care about the swag. There was a dog musical command contest, service dog demo, and costume contest. Raffle prizes were all different and you put your ticket(s) into the one you want to enter. Today was hot. My suggestion would be to have water stations around for the doggies!! There were no water stations for the dogs. The park did have a doggie fountain nearby, but dogs need lots of water, especially when it is hot. It was a good thing I had my water bowl and gave my dog water. Would I go again. I think it was cool to check out, once. I doubt I would go again as the event was pretty small and Irvine is somewhat a bit of a drive for me. If I do happen to be in the area when the event is going on, then I pay stop by as it is free after all. I am glad my donation went towards a good organization. read more
