I would love to give this place 5 stars, but it just doesn't quite make the cut. There is so much potential here! You can't find ski-up dining too many places, but here, you can step out of your skis, and within 6 steps, be ordering at the window.
The outside fireplace seating is the major draw - that, and the giant umbrella. There is plenty of room for dining here. You order at the lunch shack, and they give you a number. The service is pretty decent, and the wait isn't too long.
The food is pretty good - they have a great selection of sandwich & soups - and the tap selection is even better. I just wish the food was out of this world, for the price being charged - $10 for a bowl of soup is a bit much, even for a ski resort.
I had the Reuben, which was just average for what I would expect. Everything was there, but the flavor wasn't quite like I'd hoped. It's tough to get out of there for under $20 a person with tip, so that's the one downside for me. I sure enjoy sitting thee, enjoying my lunch and heckling my buddies skiing by, however!
