Whilst visiting family in the Phoenix area, Freestone Park was the park chosen to take our Holiday photos. For once in a (long, unknown time) our entire immediate family was together from both coasts and in between. This park appeared to be beautiful and well-maintained. Upon my arrival, there were plenty of ducks, a decent sized pond or lagoon, several year-round carnival rides for the kiddos, and a relaxing waterfall that flows under a bridge. Sounds pretty picturesque, huh? There had to be around six other groups taking pictures at this location. Whether it was family, maternity, quinceñera, or another celebration, they were all here on this random weekday. My silly 'soap box' complaint (and since this is a park and the rating doesn't matter all that much) is that there is a humongous fountain and man-made pond that they probably have to keep filled in the middle of the desert while many places are currently drought ridden... read more
