Against my gut instincts, I succumbed to the restaurant promotion to try the "savory" ribs. It should be renamed, "slathered" ribs because it was filled with WAY too much sauce that stuck to the ribs. The flavor was decent, but it was way too overpowering and distracted from the rest of the food (brown rice and vegetables).
Also the pricing of these ribs is deceiving. The menu board indicated that for the large bowl it is "$1 extra for Steak or Shrimp". Well, these ribs are neither of those and I was still charged that extra dollar.
I know that this Japanese inspired restaurant is trying to diversify their menu offerings, but they should just leave these barbecue ribs alone and let the barbecue restaurants handle them. I was impressed, though, with the speed of food preparation and the newer interior decor. In my future visits, I won't be led astray and I'll order the traditional beef and white rice. read more
