Went there last night 10:30pm spent $98 for me and my family , on my plate had a lot of hair in my food and threw it up. Spoke with a shift manager just now at 4:25 and asked for a photo told her I didn't have it since I threw up the food and didn't want to take photos for obvious reasons, all she said was well there's nothing. I visited Yoshinoya Japanese Kitchen in Chula Vista, CA on Friday, 1/24/25, around 12:30 PM. I decided to order the Combo XL Bowl with Teriyaki Ribeye Steak, Grilled Teriyaki Chicken, White Rice & Steamed Vegetables. The flavor of the meats was underwhelming. I had to add a bunch of teriyaki sauce and soy sauce to enhance the taste. The steamed vegetables and rice were good and straightforward. I also got the Clam Chowder, which was decent. The service was a tad slow, but at least friendly. The price point of the food was doable. Overall, Yoshinoya's food was tolerable enough to eat. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but could potentially have another meal if I'm in the area. read more

Today Friday Nov,3rd at 12:00pm. I usually enjoy coming here, but I've had a very disappointing experience on more than one occasion with a male cashier.Today I explained that I was new to using the app and had ordered beef and chicken, and I asked if my order could be corrected. Instead of helping me, the cashier argued with me and was dismissive this kind of unfriendliness makes customers feel unwelcome. Then I had asked him if I was able to get a little container of green onions and with an attitude he said it was 65cents wich I think it's unreasonable I would always get them for free as well as the beef juice . When I got home my combo bowls did not have the right amount of proteins it barely had any and they were sloppy. This time, since I was in Chula Vista and away from my usual spots, I decided to dine in at this location. The food came out as expected not bad, but nothing extraordinary either. The flavors were okay for my taste, and thankfully, I didn't experience the bad food complaints I've seen in other reviews. However, it still didn't hit the same way it used to when I first tried Yoshinoya in Glendale, CA. There's something about that first experience that sets the bar high. I usually get a combo of teriyaki chicken, classic beef, a delicious flan, and a soda. The meal was satisfying, but the lack of ambiance made me realize that next time, I'll just take it to-go and eat somewhere with a better view. Customer service was standard, it's a fast-food setup with no waitress service, so there's not much to say about that. I experienced severe food poisoning after dining at this location on 02/21/2026 around 8:00 PM. I woke up at approximately 3:00 AM on 02/22/2026 with intense nausea and diarrhea. The illness lasted four days and took a significant toll on my health.I called the restaurant the next morning to inform them of what happened. I was told the manager was not present and would return on Monday, and that I would receive a call back. Today is Thursday, and I still have not heard from anyone.I am a middle-aged adult, and this experience left me extremely weak for several days. I can only imagine how serious this could have been for an elderly person or someone with a compromised immune system.I am sharing this review in the interest of public health and safety. I visited this location recently with my family. We ordered two regular drinks and one large drink, and we were given small water cups for our kids. To make things easier, we poured some of the drinks we purchased into the smaller cups for them. One of the workers suddenly shouted at us, saying, "Excuse me, sir, those cups are for water, not soda," in a very rude and accusatory tone--without even checking to see that we had paid for the drinks. It was embarrassing, especially in front of other customers, and completely unnecessary. We weren't doing anything wrong, just trying to make things easier for our kids. Even if there was a concern, it could've been handled with basic courtesy and a simple question. Really disappointed in the customer service. I am a manager for large teams and if a customer is willing to pay for what they want you make it happen... really disappointed.
