I'm a semi regular at this arcade. Used to go to Round1 and now I frequent Gatcha for the rhythm game section. They have Pump It Up (PIU) Phoenix, Dance Rush Stardom (DRS), DDR A20, an older version of DDR in the back (I think it's extreme), and brand new addition - as of fall 2024 - Taiko no Tatsujin (Japanese drum game). There is also a new boxing game called KungFuBoxer that is pretty fun. Oh for hand rhythm games they also have Maimai and sound Voltex and Chunithm.
Other games: racing games and air hockey as well as basketball hoops in the back.
There used to be a bar but now it is closed, never tried their drinks but the seats are still there if you're tired from the dance games.
Most people will probably be coming here for the claw machines on dates with their SO's. They do have a wide selection of claw machines with various plushies. They also have a fun shooting cork game in which you can win prizes by shooting down plastic flaps on platforms that are moving up and down.
The way the prize system works is that you can exchange plushies for bigger prizes or pay cash for the big prizes.
They are open late, and offer frequent promotions for 15 or so credits for various seasonal reasons - for example they had a back-to-school promo for educators and students showing ID and now a Halloween costume promotion (credits for showing up in costume for a week).
I would say it used to be pretty crowded on weekends so we used to go on weeknights. But now there is no line for arrival at around 7-8pm on Fridays. The claw machine section is still a little congested but nothing like it was over the summer.
Minus one star for the prices of the credits compared to Round 1 and the crowds. But it is open late (until 2am Friday and Saturday, unsure about the weeknights) and in a great location in the Tangram mall off the Main Street in flushing. Great place to hang out before / after getting food with friends. read more
