BEWARE OF THE BAIT AND SWITCH. I contacted Gresham Toyota about purchasing a new Toyota RAV4. They sent me a quote for a vehicle and a link to their site with the description and photos. I then picked up the phone and talked with Tony a sales rep to confirm the trim package and negotiate a price. Once we agreed he sent me a written quote and I headed down there to buy the car....simple, or so I thought. When I arrived there was a RAV4 waiting for us to test drive but it WAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CAR! It had a much lower level trim package with no sunroof and no heated seats etc... I brought this to Tony's attention and even showed him the photos of the sunroof and other features he sent me from their site. He said they would try to make it right. That's when a "manager" came out and said he was sorry it was a mistake and they could not do anything about it. When I asked to speak with a general manager I was directed to their "sales manager" Josh Wilcox who told me there was nothing he was going to do and "we are done here". Then he threatened to call the cops and have me escorted off property! I could not believe what I was hearing. I have purchased new Toyotas from Beaverton Toyota and Gladstone Toyota with ZERO issues. Never this sleazy bait and switch ploy or rude and aggressive behavior by the sales staff. I am weighing my options. They still have an ad for the same car with the photos of a totally different car on their website. I am going to submit a complaint with the AG and also FCC for deceptive advertising. Would not want anyone else to go through what I had to deal with. read more
