The idea for the first Hope Village library started back in 1944 when a bunch of books were put together and kept in the basement of a local church. It wasn't until 1966 that a permanent home for the books was built.
The library served well but it soon became obvious that it was too small, so in 1989 a massive renovation took place that doubled the size of the library. Then in 2003 another renovation added a wonderful children's room.
The library today is quaint, friendly and very pleasant. Actually quite huge and efficient for such a small village, the library has two floors and even a community room. Lots of events and programs take place here for both adults and kids.
A very cool cannon that was forged right in the village sits out in front of the library and is a memorial for all the men and women that fought and died for their country. Hope Library is a great example of how nice a small town library can be. read more
