I've been watching progress on The Grisly Pear for awhile now. Then on Sunday, we were walking to Black Iron Burger across the street and saw GP was opened so we made a detour to check out the newest place in the neighborhood.
It was late on a Sunday afternoon and it was a little quiet but we were greeted by a friendly team. Our server told us the specials they had on drinks and we started with some beer and cocktails. For food, my friends and I shared Fiesta Fries, which were really good. For my main meal, I had buffalo chicken wings and I liked the level of spice and their overall crispyness. We ended with some choco mint donuts, which were pretty good.
The place is fresh and updated. You can tell that they are not open long as we had some questions about the menu and our server had to get answers, but that's okay and to be expected. For a place that hasn't been open long, they seem to have it together. I want to reiterate that everyone who works there is super friendly and makes you feel welcome.
I've never been to the Grisly Pear location in the Village so can't compare this new outpost to the original. This location does note that it is a comedy club as well and I could see the space in the back reserved for that so it's nice to know that's around.
I think this is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and it's always nice to have a solid pub nearby. read more
