Definitely come for lunch over dinner. We had a great time using the Groupon that is available right now. The salad bar has so many different options, including some hot foods as well. And the servers are less impacted during the lunch hour. We came back for dinner another time and the prices were exorbitant and the food was not much better. At dinner, they also tried to upsell us with alcohol, desserts, and shrimp cocktail.
The interior is absolutely beautiful. Very 90s-2000 luxury-coded. Dark moody lighting, dark furniture. The staff is really attentive and they are doing their best. I think there are less attentive at dinner though.
Offerings:
- Pao de queijo: great! Probably reheated from frozen but I love them.
- feijoada: Pretty good but I've not had many that I didn't like.
- I would skip the baked salmon, it's very dry.
- there is a chicken soup that's pretty rich and tasty, but very one note.
- the salad bar offerings are pretty good. Everything is fairly fresh.
- of the meats, I think we like the beef best but many of them are overcooked so make sure you ask for what level of cooking you like. The bacon wrapped items are good too. I think the garlic steak is one of the best. The wine steak is alright, order if that sounds appealing.
- Chimichurri: could use an extra chop. Very good but large pieces.
The dinner items that were not available for lunch were the smoked salmon at the salad bar, the filet mignon, beef ribs, a few other meats, and the grilled cheese. I think the cheese is the only thing I would really miss at lunch. The filet mignon was definitely overcooked also. Make sure you ask the waiters for what you're interested in and they will bring it (eventually). I found the beef rib very overcooked (sensing a theme?) but it was wheeled out on an impressive tray. read more
