This shopping center is about nine miles down US-74 from Uptown Charlotte (and the other Independence Square, https://www.yelp.com/biz/independence-square-charlotte?hrid=GGcVOLrDyHFCfd7_oGdAUg). Located on the east side of the roadway, there is a traffic light at one entrance where Village Lake Drive intersects with Independence Blvd.
This shopping center is down the grade from the roadway, making the large sign at the front particularly important for finding what's here. A few outbuildings include a mobile phone chain and a major bank branch. The main strip building has Chinese, nails, pizza, subs, deli and beauty supply as well as the anchors Super G Mart, Dollar General and Harbor Freight. At the far end, an aviation institute is closed due to the pandemic.
The shopping center is currently managed by Chambers Group.
