Downtown Berkley pleasantly welcomes us with a cozy french brunch spot. Our friend had book us on open table and based on the crowd size it would have probably been around a 30 minute wait had we not have a reservation. We were immediately seated by the window. The table arrangements made maneuvering a bit tight. It was impressive to watching the servers expertly and effortlessly weave in and out of tight spots with a tray full of food.
Our server was efficient and prompt. We were provided menus, water, and even took our drink and meal order with one stop. We ordered the creme fraiche pancakes, pain perdu au chocolate (chocolate french toast, and mimosas. The mimosas arrived filled to the brim. Our entrees arrive shortly after and still warm. The presentation was nothing short of fancy. The creme fraiche pancakes fluffy. The pain perdu au chocolate was rich and the chocolate hazelnut filling just adds decadence and sweetness. Both were dusted with powdered sugar and served with whipped butter. There were various rustic little touches such as decor, table condiments all contributes to the whole experience.
I will keep La Note in mind when traveling to Berkley. I noticed some promising items on the menu lunch and dinner. read more
