    Potatoes

I went here to have brunch with some friends and ordered the cote est. I liked the pancake was fluffy and the potatoes were well seasoned. The inside is cozy and the staff are friendly. It was busy on a Sunday so be prepared to wait.

My partner and I stopped by La Note on a Saturday morning, and it was definitely worth the wait. The restaurant was packed, but we were lucky to be seated after about 25 minutes before an even bigger crowd showed up. The space has a really cute, homey atmosphere that makes it feel cozy and inviting. I ordered the Côte Sud, and it was both delicious and very filling. I'm not usually a big breakfast person, but it was a great choice because I got to try a nice variety of items on one plate. Our waiter was also fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. If youre looking for a breakfast spot. I would definitely recommend stopping by and then walking around the campus to enjoy a day in UC Berkeley area.

La Note is the brunch spot in Berkeley. It's been around since 1997. I will definitely come back to try other menu items; I would not come back for the Lemon Gingerbread Pancakes with Poached Pears. Instead of soft, most and fluffy interior, I tasted cake-like texture. It was: * Dense * Cakey * Crumbly * Heavy It tasted like a dry muffin.

The French toast was delicious and the perfect serving size for a breakfast entree. I'm not the biggest fan of French style omelettes so it wasn't my cup of tea, but I can still appreciate the good quality of ingredients used. The service was friendly but not the most attentive. We were missing a set of cutlery and our water pitcher was not filled when needed. Fortunately the food came out fast and the patio was a gorgeous place to enjoy the meal.

My favorite brunch spot in Berkeley. Such a classic Berkeley spot. Really can't go wrong eating anything on their menu. All their egg dishes and their pancakes are excellent. Love their Les Oeufs Lucas and Blueberry Creme Fraiche Pancakes with the blueberry compote. On a nice day, I recommend sitting outside in their patio in the back. On weekday there really isn't too much of a wait but if you're planning on going on a weekend, I recommend going early to avoid a long wait.

La Note is quick, polite, and highly recommended. The service is spectacular. Honestly, any restaurant owner in the Bay Area could learn something from their house manager in terms of service. This place runs like a well-oiled machine, considering its popularity. We only waited about 10 minutes, and from ordering to finishing our meal, the entire experience was under an hour. The vibe and decor are incredibly charming. La Note will effortlessly transport you to France. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the roasted tomatoes. The gingerbread pancakes are also incredible.

We went as a party of 5 and went on a weekday so thankfully didn't have to wait. Highly recommend the Cote Nord if you're a fan of creamy cream cheese. I'm usually not a fan of tomatoes but they were perfectly grilled and spreadable on the toast. My friend also got the Cote Ouest with ratatouille for any tomato lovers. A convenient brunch spot close to campus, but I would say it's not worth waiting longer than an hour for. Thankfully we were lucky and didn't have to wait since we went on a Monday. I've been turned away before as a party of 2 for not having a reservation. Will satisfy your brunch cravings but nothing stand-out.

One of my favorite spots for breakfast in Berkeley! It's first come first serve so get here early if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is so cute and makes you feel like you're in Europe, definitely on the smaller size. I wouldn't come here front a big group since it's tight, 2-4 person table is perfect. The food is always amazing, can't go wrong with any of the pancakes!

I have been trying to try this place for a long time. Thanks to our friends that lived in the neighborhood, we were able to do so for Sunday brunch get together. The place was crowded, some tables were so closed to each other that you're within arm's reach to other patrons. So seating was a bit uncomfortable. Service was good. Our server was friendly and energetic. The menu was extensive and had lots of choices. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, I went with the Les oeufs Madison with bacon and a crème fraiche pancake. The bacon and the home fries were very good! The pancake, I felt was a bit dry. Everyone was pleased with their food. I would consider coming back to try other things on their menu.

La Note is a quaint breakfast/brunch spot in downtown Berkeley with an extremely charming patio. I stopped by on a weekday since they're known for longer waits and limited patio seating on weekends. The space is cute, and our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive--we were even greeted with water in the cutest mini pitcher. I ordered the raspberry mimosa, which was fine but leaned a little sweet. My husband and I shared the blueberry pancakes with eggs, upgraded to the rosemary garlic home fries, and added chicken apple sausage. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. The pancakes came out room temperature and dry on their own, so the syrup and cream were definitely needed. The eggs looked beautiful but tasted plain, and the home fries and sausage were both pretty basic. Overall, I think La Note is more about the patio and ambiance than the food itself. It's a cute spot for mimosas and photos, but for brunch--especially at the price point--it was a bit disappointing.

Just left this place. One word "delicious". We sat outside which was nice I love a Cozy outdoor seating area. Service was fast and friendly. I had the cote nord with goat cheese it hit the spot! I'm excited to come back and explore the menu.

YAYYY YES. get a mocha in a giant mug. get the pain perdu and split it with a friend who likes savory breakfast. perfect eggs. perfect potatoes. cute service! very very happy with la note. gets crowded! come early if you have a party larger than 2.

This is my second time at La Note. I came about 3 years ago and then just came again. Honestly the first time I came I was underwhelmed, but I decided to try again. Unfortunately I didn't realize it but I ended up ordering the same thing on my second visit haha so I still feel the same way. I got the ginger pear pancakes. The flavor was good but they aren't very fluffy and feel a bit dry to me. The side of eggs and bacon I got though, were cooked perfectly. And my partner got the ratatouille and it was delicious! I would come back for that! Service was also great!

Are there savory croissants on the menu u or just plain?

    There were also chocolate croissants

We remember being told one morning that the patio was not yet open. Is there a delay on opening every day, or was that not an ordinary day at La Note?

The restaurant opens at 8 am and I believe the patio opens at 9 am.

Does it get pretty busy on Mothers Day?

Hello Jonathan, Yes, it does get pretty busy, especially since it falls on graduation weekend this…

How do I join the waitlist for the weekend?

Gotta get there an hour before you want to eat..

    Are pets allowed on patio?

Yes, in the outdoor patio area. Not much space since tables are very close to each other so be courteous of others.

Are reservations required or can I walk in?

You can do both. The last time I went, I just walked in.

Are you open for dinner now?

Unfortunately not. La Note opens at 8AM daily and closes at 2PM on weekdays and 3PM on weekends.

Do they also serve from the dinner menu, although they are currently open only during the lunch hours? Thanks!

    No they don't!!! I asked :(

    Is there outdoor dining?

Hello Barbara, Yes our patio is open daily. We except reservations during the week and on the weekends for larger parties. We are planning on staying open throughout the winter weather permitting as well.

Yelp, site and voicemail says take out is available. When I called the person that answered said they couldn't make a take out order? Is take out not available?

    It's local only.

Hi, glad to hear you are opening. I am trying to make a reservation for next month on your reservation page and there is no option to do so. The "make a reservation" button opens to a page that says no reservations available?

Reservations should be available via their Yelp page now! You can find it here: https://www.yelp.com/reservations/la-note-berkeley-5?covers=2&date=2022-04-25&source=widget&time=1330&utm_source=widget

Is the patio open this Feb? Is it possible to make reservations for 2 people? If so, through what means? I want to go this tuesday for my bday.

Reservations can be made here: https://www.yelp.com/reservations/la-note-berkeley-5?covers=2&date=2022-04-25&source=widget&time=1330&utm_source=widget

Does this place take reservations during covid?

    Yes

How close is this restaurant to zellerbach, also how is the parking?

Parking isn't great, it's all street parking and depending on where you go it's either 2 or 4 hour (at $2.50/hour). It's a half mile to Zellerbach Hall. I'd probably park in one of the garages nearer to Zellebach, then walk down, and maybe take a…

Does La Note do bottomless mimosas? If so, how much does it cost?

    No they don't

Is it good for a baby shower?

It depends on how many people are coming. Their service is limited and slow; if for 6 I would say yes; but anymore would not be fun. remember the place is small.

Do they have a bar or community table for singles?

There is no community table for singles. A party of one is seated at a table for two. There is a bar area, it is not used to seat people there.

Do you do reservation for brunch?

Yes! I was able to make a reservation for brunch. Just go on their website.

Is it possible to make a reservation for Saturday lunch/brunch for two?

You can several days in advance online too. I made plans w my girlfriends and made reservations for three plus a baby!

The health score shows a 1/100... is this an error?

Has to be! I don't think it would be allowed to operate with a score this low, besides this restaurant is totally clean; I've never had any issues concerning clean utensils, bathroom or tables.

We called to get a quote and had a discussion. After we gave the owner all of our information, she told us she wouldn't give us a quote unless we came in person (?!) Which is weird because this isn't how restaurants work. Typically for events restaurants will give you a quote via phone or email for the sake of convenience. We had gotten 3 quotes already from other restaurants via phone. Making us drive 45 mins just to get a quote is a total waste of time. Especially if we can't afford it. So my daughter called again, left a VM explaining we couldn't come in person due to time constraints, and again asked for a quote. No reply. We waited a few days and called again. No reply. Finally we got a voicemail from the owner saying that she didn't like my daughter's attitude ?!!! The workers and the owner were all very kind and welcoming. I got there a little after they opened in the morning. As for the food, I ordered the kimchi fried rice along with the chicken and croffle. The fried chicken tasted a bit interesting. I'm not sure if the frying temperature was off or if it had something to do with the condition of the oil, but the texture of the breading wasn't quite right. I used to work at a fried chicken shop in Korea, so it was a texture I recognized--the coating was fully cooked and wasn't necessarily soggy, but there was no real crunch. Instead of being crispy, the breading was soft and kind of gave way when you bit into it. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue eating it. I'd give the chicken a 2/5. As for the kimchi fried rice, I liked the addition of cilantro and beets, which gave it a refreshing touch. My only issue was that the kimchi itself was way too sour for kimchi fried rice. I don't mind fermented or sour kimchi, but in this case, the sourness overpowered the rest of the dish. Overall, the cafe itself is cute and the people working there were genuinely very kind. I just wish the food had been a little better, especially the fried chicken. Will be back next time to try out the coffee!! It is a cafe after all.

You can't park right in front but there was plenty of street parking on the weekdays. Inside, its intimate and cozy and there is also a nice seating area outside with lots of dog-owners hanging out. Everything we had was great quality with choice ingredients where you could actually taste the difference. Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich: herb butter, roasted seasonal vegetables and onions, soft-cooked egg, and greens. Surprisingly filling, we were trying to share a bunch of little bites but ended up getting one each of these. It's fine as a stand alone mini breakfast! Frittata: pastured eggs, assorted vegetables, caramelized onions. WAY too good! we all love this one. Herb-Dijon Biscuit: Excellent savory biscuit, you can taste the high quality butter used.

Cali Alley is one of my go-to spots... I'm constantly trying to convince people to meet me there…read morefor lunch, or telling them to just DoorDash it because it's that good. It's also one of those places that makes you want to stay. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and generous. Every time I come here, I tell myself I'll pace myself... and every time I fail because it's just that good. The burgers are loaded and perfectly balanced, the fries are always crisp (never soggy, which is rare), and everything tastes high-quality and made to order. You have to try the chicken and waffles. The waffle batter tastes homemade and the butter takes it to another level... it's one of those dishes you keep thinking about after. I'll even DoorDash it all the way to Jingletown. The patio setup is really well done... there's a mix of larger tables for groups and higher bar-style seating for smaller hangs. The wooden furniture and cushioned benches make it comfortable, and they've got heaters for colder days and umbrellas when it's sunny, so you can usually pick your ideal spot. You order at the window and then just hang out while you wait... it's a relaxed flow and the food comes out pretty quickly. The staff are always kind and welcoming, and the whole place has a relaxed, homey vibe with really good music. Highly recommend... just come hungry.

I got the grilled prawn bowl. it's basically 4 prawns on top of a bunch of salad mix--for $21. (You…read morehave to pay extra $2 for the rice.) it's just not worth it. For what it's worth one of the other customers told me their fried chicken sandwich is really great.
