Ambiance: This is a surprisingly large restaurant with a decently extensive menu, as someone else mentioned they have bubble tea and candies as well. The staff are very friendly and food comes out reasonably quick.
Food:
We got the cochinita pibil, birria, and chicken tacos and actually found them all flavorful. The meats were tender, juicy, and stewed in savory juice which drips from the tacos. The tortillas were fresh and pliable. My only gripe was that they were a smidge small and I easily could have gone for a 4th.
The Cubano sandwich is not authentic and really is a pulled pork sandwich with a cubano riff. It did have ham and cheese but they used a sweet ham and regular sandwich bread instead of a true cuban loaf. Despite not being authentic, it was still tasty.
Overall this place is fine if you're craving a Mexican meal. The prices were steep at $21 for three street tacos and $18 for a Cubano but most things in Tobermory are tourist-priced like this. Worth a try but just set your expectations accordingly. read more
