From Kayla's review
Oct 16, 2014
I was excited about trying a manicure place in town because it's been a long time since I've had one done. I first looked into PCI Academy, but the reviews online make this seem like a "buyer beware" type of situation. However, in my search, I found Le's Nails which happens to be right nearby where I regularly shop anyways! It's near the Taco Johns, Caseys, and Almost Always Open shop right along Lincoln Way. No appointment was needed. I walked in, and everyone was very friendly. They got me set up right away, and they had a huge selection of nail polishes to choose from. There were even ones with sparkles! (I picked one of those. I love sparkles) It was easily over 100 polishes. They also had a huge selection of gel polishes to choose from as well. They offer manicures, pedicures, and gel/shellac nail services as well as other services. Everything is very affordable. The guy who was working with my hands was very careful, and he requested my permission before pulling or tugging on my hands if I had them in the wrong spot. I had a paraffin wax dip (those are trippy!) that are included complimentary with your manicure. It included the other standard things like trimming the cuticles, cutting the nails, and a lotioned hand and forearm massage. He painted a base coat, two color coats, and a top coat, and I sat under the nail dryers for two full cycles. My nails were entirely dry when I left because they allowed me to stay under the dryer another cycle, so I didn't have to be worried when purchasing groceries afterwards. The entire service came to $16. They don't accept checks, and I paid in cash to avoid costing them a credit card charge, but they do accept credit cards as well. Like I said: the staff is super friendly. There was another customer in the store while I was there, and after she had her nails done, she was pacing outside waiting for her ride. While it wasn't particularly chilly out, the staff invited her back inside to come sit and wait for her ride because they didn't want her getting chilly. Again, very friendly place. After a full day of shopping, making home-made pretzels, and typing/doing work, the nail polish is still as pristine as when I got it. I'm not sure when it will peel, but one of my own home-done polishes would have peeled by now. Final thoughts: I'll definitely be back. I might even look into their gel options after I check to see if there's any safety reasons I should avoid gel polish or not. The staff is super friendly, and they did a great job with my nails. I was in and out within a half-hour with nails that were completely dry and ready to go about my business. I'm SUPER impressed! read more
