I enjoyed a great breakfast plate of Machaca from this Mexican eatery in Casa de Oro, located in Spring Valley. It use to be La Baja Mexican Grill, and has been rebranded as "Los Mexas."
The machaca breakfast plate came with rice, beans, and four corn tortillas for $11.99 plus tax. It was a large portion of machaca and it was very tasty. The stewed shredded beef was well seasoned. The eggs were scrambled into the beef and I could not help my self to making breakfast tacos. I tried a trio of hot sauces and they were all very good. I liked the dark red one the best It had good heat and favor.
The rice and beans were good, too but were more subtle in flavor. The beans were light in seasoning and the rice was just right.
The service was good. It was a one man team when I came in the morning, but the young man made it work. He was friendly, efficient, and check on me to make sure I enjoyed the food. The place offers a bar as well with plenty of inside seating, but no outside seating. read more
