If you're looking for warm, hearty comfort food in a cozy, family-style atmosphere, Mariner Café really hits the spot. We stopped in on Thanksgiving Day for breakfast, and even though they were packed, the kitchen still delivered.
I ordered the classic breakfast--crispy bacon, perfectly done eggs, golden hashbrowns with just the right crunch, and an English muffin. Everything tasted fresh, familiar, and comforting. My friend had the biscuits and gravy with meat, and it was exactly what you want on a chilly Washington morning: hearty, flavorful, and seriously satisfying.
Service was friendly, but with the holiday rush it was definitely a bit chaotic. We had to track someone down for coffee refills, which wasn't a huge deal but worth noting. Aside from that, the overall experience was great.
If you're craving solid comfort food and a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe, Mariner Café is an easy recommendation--especially on cold days when you just want something warm and delicious. I'd definitely go back! read more
