Biscuits and Gravy with meat and hashbrowns

If you're looking for warm, hearty comfort food in a cozy, family-style atmosphere, Mariner Café really hits the spot. We stopped in on Thanksgiving Day for breakfast, and even though they were packed, the kitchen still delivered. I ordered the classic breakfast--crispy bacon, perfectly done eggs, golden hashbrowns with just the right crunch, and an English muffin. Everything tasted fresh, familiar, and comforting. My friend had the biscuits and gravy with meat, and it was exactly what you want on a chilly Washington morning: hearty, flavorful, and seriously satisfying. Service was friendly, but with the holiday rush it was definitely a bit chaotic. We had to track someone down for coffee refills, which wasn't a huge deal but worth noting. Aside from that, the overall experience was great. If you're craving solid comfort food and a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe, Mariner Café is an easy recommendation--especially on cold days when you just want something warm and delicious. I'd definitely go back!

Chose for breakfast on a whim. Very glad we did. Quick service, reasonably priced, food was nice and fresh. My "lighter side" breakfast included a single egg and I substituted a ham "half slab". Surprised me with an egg with a double yolk.

Stopped here for lunch. Had fish and chips. The place was 2/3 empty as we got there after the lunch rush and it was during the pandemic. It took almost 30 minutes to get our food. The fries were lukewarm. The coleslaw was meh. Saw the waitress groan loudly when we were being seated. The gal that seated us said our waitress would be right with us. It took 10 minutes before she came over. She didn't check on us. A sign that was almost 4' tall was plastered on the front door warning about eating out during the pandemic with how much of a fine the owners would get if not following it. We could see straight into the kitchen where we were seated. A cook had a balaclava on, but he took it off.

For such a small community this little town never ceases to amaze me with their hospitality and surprisingly good finds. Mariner's Cafe is no exception! Located in the same shopping plaza as the JCPENNEY and some small businesses, they have the ideal corner location that gets just the right amount of morning light without being overbearing and some of the nicest people around manning the ship. It is a place where the locals come to support the business and do not tire of the many options both the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus have to offer. We stopped in after an appointment in town and were delighted to have a delicious meal. It was the first time we've had breakfast outside of the home in 7 months. It felt really nice and safe - all of the tables inside were more than 6 ft apart and all employees were masked as were patrons, when moving about the place or eating. I had the veggie scramble with blueberry pancakes and fresh baked apple raspberry rhubarb pie (made sugar-free! And every bit as delicious as the real thing!) I was thoroughly impressed and look forward to checking back in the future to see what other pies they have!

They do have gluten free bread (not advertised on web or menu inside that I found) but after server heard about my sensitivities she saidshe has a very allergic friend and wanted me to be as safe as possible! So they made me a Club without the bread. It was perfect and I loved the extra olives. Thank you for caring about those of us who can't eat "normal"!

    Cooked to perfection!

The cafe has a relaxed, welcoming vibe that fits perfectly with the laid-back feel of Sequim. Definitely a nice little local spot to grab breakfast or coffee if you're in the area. I'd happily stop by again next time we pass through the area and try more from the menu!

They roast their own coffee and serve delicious breakfast and lunch, with beer and wine available later in the day. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with about a dozen tables inside plus covered outdoor seating. The staff couldn't have been friendlier--I had the pleasure of meeting Tara and one of her coworkers, and they made us feel right at home. The coffee was outstanding, and they offer a great selection of freshly roasted beans, from light to dark roasts. The pastry case looked amazing, and they also feature daily specials. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and I'll definitely be coming back for it--it was excellent! My wife had the spinach frittata with cheese and bacon, and she loved it. We only wish we had a place like this closer to home in Seattle. There are plenty of great coffee shops there, but this café has a special hometown feel that makes you want to come back. If you're in the Sequim area, don't miss it!
