On March 31, 2017, I visited Mavis Discount Tire at the Cold Spring, NY location. An oil and filter change was performed on my vehicle. What I found afterward was that the technician, while performing the oil service, lost my oil cap, and instead of replacing it, took it upon himself to install this rubber gasket. Note that he placed a dime in the gasket to prevent the oil from spraying out.
Keep in mind that I have been a steady customer for years with Mavis, and recently the Cold Spring location. All my vehicles get serviced there. The question I have is, even if Mavis resolves this issue, how do I go back to the Cold Spring location (or any Mavis location)? How do I trust that my vehicles will be serviced properly or that the technician won't further damage my vehicles.
By the way, the oil cap was found wedged between the windshield wiper container and the sidewall. read more
