Visited Mia's on a busy Friday night and were seated outside. The restaurant was lively, and Jojo, our server, was wonderful.
We started with the octopus, scallops, and ceviche, followed by the skirt steak, lamb, mushroom salad, and Aleppo chicken, and finished with the olive oil cake and rice pudding.
The octopus was tender, flavorful, and well cooked. The scallops were beautiful and nicely done with bright acidity. The ceviche, however, lacked seasoning and fell a bit flat.
The mains were underwhelming overall. The rack of lamb, ordered medium, was chewy, the Aleppo chicken was dry, and the mushroom dish was overpowered by heavy sauce. The skirt steak was decent but not memorable.
Dessert didn't redeem the meal, the olive oil cake was dense, and the rice pudding had some undercooked grains.
There's potential here, and I'll be curious to see how the menu and execution evolve over time. read more
