What a cute places nestled in the heart of Waco! We were driving to Fort Worth but needed to stretch our feet a bit and decided to stop for a light bite and some ice cream next door.
The interior and concept is beautiful - fresh and open space concept that gives you "farm to table" vibes. The parking I saw was limited, however, they might have more parking in the back...
The staff were friendly albeit there was no one at the host stand when we walked in. It was after the lunch hour so the restaurant was very slow and empty and only a couple of patrons.
Our server was friendly and checked in on us. We ordered the strawberry salad, crispy Brussels sprouts, and deviled eggs with candied bacon and jalapenos. Hmmm... I think they missed the mark on the food though. Firstly, the food came out in roughly five minutes after we placed the order, which makes me think that the food was all premade and little to no prep work. The greens in our salad were not fresh, but wilted and soggy. The brussel sprouts were good, but not fresh, and a bit too soaked in the sauce or dressing it was tossed in...and the deviled eggs had candied bacon that has the texture of a raisin...definitely my least favorite...
While we were eating, our server Emily, was really great in checkin-in on us but once we were done eating she didn't come around to wrap us up and provide us with our check...so I had to get up and tell her we were ready...
Cute concept but missed the marker on quality fresh tasting food. read more
