My sister had a specialty dental appointment and while there Dr. Wayne Parks DDS recommended we tatty it out because they have great biscuits. The establishment is light and airy with live plants aplenty and ample out four and indoor seating. The bathrooms are universal so each commode is contained in its own water closet. It would be get if more restaurants offered this type of facilities. The food was great. I ordered a Golden Hour cocktail which was amazing. Definitely has a southern vibe to the drinks and food. I hadn't eaten at all so ordered the Buddy Holly (eggs, potatoes, biscuit, and voice of meat). I'm a bacon girlie so went with the thick sliced bacon. Everything was fresh hot and delicious. Biscuit came with sourgum butter and a strawberry syrup. I'm not a fan of strawberries but added the butter to every morsel of the biscuit. Biscuit was dense without being too heavy. Potato's were lightly seasoned with a perfect crisp to them. Our server Courtney was attentive and was the person who mixed our drinks. It was a great Monday Brunch spot!

Crispy brussel sprouts! If they are on the menu, I order them. These are in the top three that I've ever had.

I happened to be in Plano over the weekend for a conference so since I came this far, I hopped on a bus and scheduled myself for less than 24 hours in Waco! I didn't realize that the #Magnolia properties are closed on Sunday, so I found other fun ways to get the Waco hospitality from the moment I arrived. I was actually glad that I got to see the town for what it is a few days before people traveled there from all over for #Silobration. I look forward to returning to Waco for a longer visit! Milo was recommended to me by at least three different people: my Air B-n-b host, the Waco Tours guide, and some fellow tourists in from another state as well. I walked there from my Air b-n-b and was super excited to find a place where people hang out with friends for a good meal and conversations! I was dining alone and chose a spot on the patio. There was a football game on if you wanted it, but otherwise it was relaxing and a comfortable temperature for October. Now the first thing I always try if on the menu are Brussels sprouts! It was a great appetizer because it is solid yet still light and crispy. The vinaigrette was subtle but delicious. I loved the various toppings sprinkled on top and learned something new in my pepper game. Maybe I've had them before being from CA but I didn't know there was a Fresno chile pepper. The flavor was a sweet heat and great surprise with the crispy shallots and garlic. When traveling, I want to try local wine or beer so I ordered the Brotherwell Brewing Act of Faith Belgian style tripel. The herbal fruity flavors went really well with the sprouts and my main dish. For dinner I ordered the blackened salmon and grits. I love grits but usually for breakfast. It was a rare treat to try a more savory flavor. The salmon, grits, and the delicious veggies and herbs on top all bring their own distinct flavors and textures that also complement each other well. Each bite made my mouth so happy! My server was super friendly and attentive and did an awesome job in her first week. I would love to go to The Brotherwell Brewery Taproom next visit, then return to Milo!

Milo All Day I love you!! I was in Waco 3 years ago and remembered my amazing meal at Milo. Flash forward to tonight, and it was just as amazing as I remembered! The interior is gorgeous. So bright, abstract, and greenhouse inspired. The restaurant is spacious and beautiful. Service was pretty good! Everything came out fast and our server had helpful opinions on menu items when asked! We ordered two appetizers - the artichoke and kale dip and brussels to start. They were both just fabulous and so flavorful. The brussels are very complex with slight heat, and they are cooked very well. The portion sizes were perfect for an appetizer as well. I ordered The Salad and my boyfriend ordered the mad burger. My salad was so good - it was perfect and enjoyable through every bite. The burger was good too, and I especially enjoyed the herbed fries with the jalapeno ranch. I tried two cocktails, the first being the strawberries and cream clarified seasonal cocktail. It was the cocktail of my dreams - fruity with a gorgeous vanilla note. The second drink I got was a spritz that was citrus-forward, botanical, and bitter. I really enjoyed it as well. I will be returning and honestly Milo is probably in my top 10 list of restaurants of all time. I would recommend it to anyone!

Had a nice experience at Milo after a 5k. Breakfast Sando was nice and hearty. The avocado and aioli they put on it give a wonderful flavor. The home fries were delicious as well. My friend really enjoyed her Buddy Holly plate and her espresso martini. The inside was nice and clean, service was fine.

Still amazing place - I prefer the brunch menu more than dinner. We sat outside which was very hot but it made it so you could actually hear what other people were saying. The inside has terrible acoustics and feels like a school cafeteria. I got a special order - Nashville hot fried chicken on salad. Very tasty - not super spicy but nice. Pimiento cheese spread and crackers always a hit. Service was friendly and kind. Wonderful spot in Waco.

I thought Milo was nicely decorated especially with all the plants. My server was super kind and helpful. The mezcal cocktail I had was delicious. I ordered the chicken paillard and it was delightful. The chicken was nicely seasoned and I really liked the leek salsa.

As a local, I love the esthetics of this place! It's so beautiful! The cornbread, is a must, so good! This is a shareable dish, even though you might not want to share. I enjoyed a hot tea as well. This is a great place to meet some out of town friends. They ordered the Brussel sprouts and raved about them. They said they were delicious. We ordered the Buddy Holly, which was another good one and ordered the lemon herb chicken bowl. It was a beautiful presentation but more on the bland side. The sweet potatoes probably made the entire dish better. The service was good. Didn't have a lot of interaction with the server but not in a horrible way. We enjoyed our time there and left in a timely manner.

If you aren't looking for something heavy then this is the dish to order! So delicious and the candied bacon omg I will recommend this place and dish to everyone! Wash it all down with a yummy pineapple mimosa! Magnificent!!!

Great food, atmosphere, and service! You can't go wrong. We enjoyed the patio on a Sunday around lunch. The brunch drink options were a little limited but the mimosas were good and the service was great. The biscuits are incredible and everything that walked by us looked awesome. My migas with Chorizo were fantastic!

This place was probably the best option for brunch on Sunday. Almost everything is locally sourced. This was obvious in the freshness and simplistic menu. Simplistic in the amount of options NOT in the curation of taste profiles. While I can't quite put my finger on exactly what genre the menu would be classified as, I can say it was simply delicious. The food was hot and delicious. I don't know exactly what it was called but the blue corn cake was unlike anything I've ever had. It was a cornbread pancake with some Serrano apple butter stuff on top. Wow. Wow. Wow!!! Taste and texture off the charts. Our sever (Kara?) was amazing. We had 2 different managers come over and check on us. They had tons of gluten free options and this was amazing because they were extra careful. Definitely would go back and try more. So so good.

A friend had recommended this restaurant and I am so glad we took her advice. We happened to catch their happy hour which had 1/2 off appetizers and discounts on drinks. Everything was DELICIOUS. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because our waiter had to redo all our checks because he didn't deduct the happy hour prices.

I expected to be wowed, but instead it felt like a solid breakfast spot with great branding. If you're already in Waco, it's worth checking out once for the experience and the ambiance. Thankfully, Yelp absolutely came through clutch (as it usually does) and led us to Our Breakfast Place. We intentionally tried to time things to beat the post-church crowd and I think we mostly succeeded... though there was still a little bit of a wait. Thankfully, this place is absolutely worth the wait! The restaurant was bustling and busy but still had a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. The menu was extensive with tons of tempting breakfast options, the prices were very reasonable to me, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our waitress was so kind and friendly and even the women seated nearby struck up conversation with us while we waited for our food. It just had that warm, community-oriented breakfast spot vibe. I ordered the blueberry lemon pancakes which were a seasonal special and wow, they were fantastic. Sweet but not overly so, fluffy, flavorful, and the combo also came with an egg and I chose two slices of bacon. All delicious and certainly plenty filling. The coffee was strong too, which I greatly appreciated. All in all, this was a five-star breakfast experience and the kind of local spot I love discovering while traveling. I reviewed BBD a year ago for the first time after their initial opening and gave them high marks. Like so many places, though, BBD has not maintained the quality of their grand opening. My wife's broccoli and cheese soup was obviously a mix with very little broccoli, very little cheese, and bland. The tomatoes on my house salad were bad probably old. The corn muffins we received were cold and dense and probably straight from the cooler. Our waitress brought our food then didn't come back until we flagged her down to get our check. She was covering about 5 tables and spent most of her time in the kitchen. A runner brought our food out. It seems that Black Bear is going through that inevitable drop in quality that comes with an inability to sustain continuity in their kitchen and wait staff. Hopefully they will work through this problem and return to the quality we are have come to expect over the last year.
