I used to go to Petsmart on a regular basis because I had a doc and he was in bad need to obedience training. It was a Jack Russell Terrier so I'm sure you can understand. Through weekly sessions his temperament cooled and he really did become more obedient. Mind you he was still a 200lb dog in a 20lb dog body. The instructors definitely knew their stuff and their love for dogs really showed. I've also bought dog food, toys and accessories here. They have a good selection but their prices are a bit high. They also have a grooming studio for your pet. From my experience buying a dog at a pet store, I would not recommend it. However, Petsmart doesn't sell animals, rather they have an adoption program available for those who are looking for a pet. I haven't heard anything - good or bad - about this program so take your chances. It may be better to go through the SPCA. From pet carriers, kennels, pet food, over the counter reliefs, Petsmart has it all. Check them out if you have a pet. read more
