(Dined 08/29/24 TH @ 12:00pm): Was I "fore" or against this golf-themed grill? I arrived early for my Alaska Airlines flight to Los Angeles, California in order to settle in, have less stress, and relax into my usual pre-flight drink and meal which I found at PGA Tour Grill. I'd passed by this place numerous times as I came and went specifically these last couple of years, and each time I kept saying I'd stop in one day. Well, that day finally happened. Since I've been traveling in and out of this Terminal 2 Gate E area quite a bit lately, I've decided to eventually try all of the dining options. Was this grill a hole-in-one, or would I leave it off my travel tour route!? PURCHASE Aloha Beer Co. Hop Lei IPA Beer 6.75% ABV 20floz Draft ($13.99): Golden amber color, citrusy hoppy aroma, light body, citrusy hoppy flavor, crisp refreshing finish, and citrusy hoppy aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=CkqjQYWq_l2muqNkryOI2Q The Punahele Burger + Substitute Sweet Potato Fries ($21.99 + $4.00): 100% Hawaiian grass-fed 8oz beef patty, cracked pepper and sea salt, swiss cheese, crispy onions, tomato, arugula, red onion jam, and garlic aioli held together by a lightly-toasted bun, this was a good burger with its juicy patty and melted gooey cheese https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=WObITsmpkWRE4xFWsimZIQ but honestly nothing special. The rest of the toppings seemed more like an afterthought. The pickle spear was crunchy but very small and thin. The spud sticks were really good, crispy, hot, and very flavorful that didn't require any dipping sauce. I felt the value was lagging, but it was nice to try. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=p87cT4oIj22bVPwa8Loi_Q SERVICE Greeted by a friendly hostess, she allowed me to sit along the railing so I could people-watch as I enjoyed my meal and stare at an intriguing picture https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=7aemdEizrNvBZLZ5VgFxVQ across the way. I quickly placed my order, my beer came out minutes later and soon after that the rest of my meal. I was checked on once which was fine, and when I was ready to pay up, I hailed her down and settled up. Everything was easy-peasy - mahalo! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) I was traveling through and had no need to park. However, the airport offered onsite parking structures with rates that varied from FREE (less than 15 minutes) to $25.00/daily maximum. Because this was located within Terminal 2 of departing flights, you had to already be an outgoing or incoming passenger to even get here, so parking would be a moot point. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located deep into Terminal 2 near Gate E 4-10 https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=_MK2ClzKiL-NBnmlPAvKeQ , this was a spacious floorplan with seating around the bar while many chairs/tables surrounded everything else with plenty of viewpoints. The dark brown walls added a classy touch with oddly little touches to the sport of golf. A sports bar vibe that was welcoming for the entire family. Minimal natural lighting came in through the nearby glass doors and windows while electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were a handful of TVs while I didn't notice any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=13oBuDV2ScI-Bra08-iN4g ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was glad to have finally tried PGA Tour Grill, but I wouldn't rush to have another meal there. They surprisingly had a varied drink https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=kUn0LrXnKJRI2_2aI3pqvA and food https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=WUuYZd738Lpp0Amh13vlvg menu, respectively, which may sway me towards another visit. The food was fine. The service did what they needed to do which worked for me. The pricing was elevated as expected of any airport eatery, and the beer prices were really priced well comparably-speaking. I found good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
