I love the history and ambience of the place. I was not blown away by what I ordered. I had a very bland piece of fish with an overly sweet carrot purée that I could not eat. I did try the beef bourguignon which was excellent. It's crowded and lively so that made it fun. The service was good and bad. I couldn't get anyone to bring us water for a very long time. It took forever to order or even get any attention. I understand they were busy, but there was a lot of staff just standing around. Some snobby BS happening and some lovely young folks with nice attitudes. Seems to be the norm for many Paris restaurant experiences. All that said I'd probably go back if I was in the area because it's such a cool old Parisian café. read more
