Heard great things about this new spot and we just happened to be in the area so we decided to pick something up. We pulled up to the food truck parked in the gas station lot, with a seating area and a few parking spots next to the truck.
It was a windy day so the windows were closed. We weren't sure if they were open when walking up but then a young lady opened the window to greet us. She asked if it was our first time. When we confirmed that it was she offered us a sample. She came back with a bowl of piping hot, dressed beef suya with a couple of picks for us to try. That was so smart because we were hooked! The meat was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The raw onions provided some crunch and a bit of a palette cleanse before the next bite.
Originally we were thinking about getting the box. But the sample was so good, and we knew we wouldn't come back that way for a while, so we got a half tray of a mix of beef and wings along with a "small" tray of jollof. It took about 25-30 minutes for our big order to be ready. The young lady handed us this gorgeous insulated bag with Project Suya on it and it was hefty. She also slipped in a pineapple soda to our order for free. We had food for days! We got to enjoy the "Benito Bowl" while we ate West African grilled meats. Ah! The beauty of living in MOCO.
Every time we ate the leftovers, we would talk about who we could share this delicious food with the next time we order it. The beef reheated very well, by the way. Also, a heads up, the pepper sauce that's served with the wings is not for the weak. It's delicious but start out with a little bit if you know what's good for you. read more
